I'm about to play Marathon Infinity with a bunch of old people!
(I'm Spurious Interrupt/Guest)
I was bored, so I booted up Marathon 1 and looked for network games just to see if someone might actually be on. 3 people (only one afk!) were on! We got to talking and they've been playing Marathon since 1995, but don't have Bungie.net accounts. I told them they'd be legends if they came back but then they said something about drawing lines and changed the subject. Apparently one of them was never really interested after Infinity, while the other one loved it. They'd heard the rumors as well about Bungie making a reboot with Activision. They're playing Infinity, which I'm installing right now (new laptop). I'm probably going to get my butt kicked. Wish me luck!

I've been following Bungie since Minotaur. Forge (Marathon ∞ map editor) is one of the biggest reasons I am now a game developer.

2 RepliesI remember playing Marathon Infinity online with my dad when I was a small kid back in the mid 90s. It's nice to see people still log in to play, but I really do with more would come by and join the old classic fun (especially since you can get the game for free via Durandal). It woud be awesome to finally be able to play some Marathon Soccer after so long. Good luck though and have fun!

Good for you man. I played through about half of Marathon last year and got stuck. Never got around to finishing it - it isn't exactly my cup of tea. I'm always amazed that there's always a small, dedicated fanbase to Bungie games released ages ago, whether it be Marathon or Halo CE.
