I've noticed there are a good number of people who are "dissapointed" in Bungie for making a supposedly crap game. See Exhibit A. Just in case you guys didn't get the memo, Harebrained Schemes, and not Bungie, developed Steam Pirates. Bungie is the publisher. So the game's quality really has nothing to do with Bungie.
Posted by: gorocurt I don't care who developed it. I still enjoy it.
Its an OK game for something that took 12 weeks to develop. (and for the price - meh) And it was kinda a win-win-win for HBS, bungie and moai engine, in that it; - allowed HBS to trial run a new engine; - bungie got a game for its aerospace lanuch; - moai got a solid test of its engine. Although kinda telling that the bungie took more than it gave, the biggest tell is how HBS never returned to bungie with any of its subsequent games (same market, same style). Given that HBS was bungies ONE-AND-ONLY reference partner you would have expected them to do anything to have kept them ... or at least sourced another dev studio once the relationship started to hit the rocks. Hell paid 100% of the cost for another 12 week round. Did laugh at the double entendre of the OPs thread subject. "Bungie didn't develop Crimson" ... sure he meant as in "bungie didnt develop the code" ... but given bungie was the [cough] "publisher" you could also have reasonably read this to mean "bungie didnt develop the crimson brand though partnership management and marketing" ... things a publisher should be doing. In this the OP was right - lol.
