Here is another video about this: http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_c3#/video/bestoftv/2013/01/16/ac-newtown-conspiracy-theorists-harassment.cnn
I was not even aware of this, but apparently there are conspiracy theories about the newtown shooting, which claims that the shooting was misreported, exaggerated, or completely fake in order for the US government to increase support for gun control. The most notable guy is a college professor who claimed that the shooting was not thoroughly investigated, and got the attention of Anderson Cooper. Survivors of the shooting are actually being harassed by some of these people, calling them liars and fakers.
Now, clearly these people are a very small minority who are only payed attention too because of the internet and do not represent gun advocates, these people are completely different. Still, this is just disgusting.

I remember seeing things like this on Facebook right after the shooting. There's a segment of the population, disproportionately represented on the internet, that believes all authority is inherently evil. They then view the world through this lens, making all sorts of connections that don't exist. The paranoid mind is scary. The worst thing is, every real act of corruption from authority serves to reinforce this mentality so, it won't die out.

Could you please keep this ridiculous topic inside your group and stop shitting up the mains with it. Cheers.

He's not the first. There are a lot of people who believe it. Looking at their arguments and the evidence, it seems as though they're just grasping for something when nothing is really there. Most of the "proof" conspiracy theorists produce can be refuted if you just look at the evidence.
-
You want to know something really disgusting? It took another mass shooting for the government to realize the laws on gun control needed to change.

Twenty children are dead. This is irrefutable fact.

I've seen some of the conspiracy stuff. I don't think for a minute that the shooting itself was a conspiracy. There does seem to be some evidence that crisis actors have been used, which I think is appalling. It's also undeniable that the entire tragedy has just been used as political fuel for the -blam!-ing garbage we let run our country(I mean both parties. I hate politicians). There shouldn't have been any way the situation could've been more sad, but here in America, we -blam!-ing find a way.
-
I by no means believe there is a conspiracy afoot or anything like that regarding this, but there was quite a bit of conflicting details in the first days after the shooting, and I could see why that would make some of the more paranoid people out there suspect something was up.

Just for the sake of argument, what makes you so sure that it did happen? Because you saw it on TV?

I was watching CNN last night while they were talking about this. Absolutely sick.

Well I don't know what you expected to happen. There's a conspiracy theory behind every tragedy.
