We all know some PVE players sometimes jump in the PVP modes from time to time to go in looking for a bit of “Fun”.
“It can’t be that bad, Right?…”
This meta we currently have isn’t fun at all but actually depressing. Every match there are people just laning with pulse rifles and not moving. This has exacerbated the close range game to become a special only zone. These in conjunction have made PVP the slowest and most boring meta possible.
Let’s reduce the effectiveness of using a pulse rifle in PVP. Don’t change the TTK but make them harder to use. This was done to snipers for being to effective in the long range and pulse rifles are in need of the same change.
Let’s also give some more changes to the lower used frames and exotics.
The recent changes to the 120 hand cannon’s in PVP has seen some of the players trying them out once again.

None of your post makes sense. There’s multiple RPMs to cater to multiple play styles. I just know you based your whole post on Elsie’s.

Isn't every meta depressing?

I don't have any issues with pulse rifles. It's the ridiculous outliers in the game that suck. Rose Jade Rabbit Certain exotic and legendary Hand Cannons Wicked Implement Prismatic Subclass Shiver Strike Knucklehead radar (especially stacks wearing it destroys radar detection) Shotguns 3rd party adaptive devices Allowing players with trash connection to play pvp. I'm sure there are lots more I'm just forgetting. People blame Elsie's but honestly it's fine unless in the hands of a cheater.

Edited by coda-jj: 11/27/2024 2:44:29 PMIt’s not the pulse, it’s the lack of special. It’s killed sniper usage and everyone doesn’t want to engage because usually they’re fighting 2-3 who won’t engage because they too only have 1 special and probably already wasted it. Bring back 2 special and you’ll see different weapons used besides pulse and scouts Also knucklehead radar really forced this meta, once the good players start playing this way with that exotic, everyone will follow because it’s a broken exotic

Pulses need small adjustments. The main issue with this game is more so the ability sandbox IMO. Too much utility, too much healing, too much sustaining, ect. I can lay down 1200 damage and get no kills in a round of pulse hugging trials.

And I mean significantly. To the point ur redical barely moves. If ur sitting in the back with a pulse and ur .5 meters outside of ur optimal range, then any sniper/scout should have an easy shot on u. Also every single weapon should have harsh damage fall off. It's all or none. No more of this hand cannons, smgs and side arms lose 40% of their damage 3 meters out side of optimal range while a 40 meter pulse with a .67 ttk still kills in 3 bursts 45 meters away. Also i believe ttk should directly reflect range. Slow ttk= more range. Faster ttk=less range. Funny enough i think adaptive pulses and rapid fires do a good job of that. Adaptives are slow but have decent ranges, and rapids are fast but usually cap out around 34 meters. Tho there drop off scaler is still way to forgiving. For both.

compared to the few years of hand cannons right? people are not playing pvp because of pulse rifles lol..Its because it s a damn sweat fest every game with its low population.
-
Lol. No.

As long as hand cannons are also good pulse rifles being strong shouldn't be an issue. Its better them than autos or scouts in terms of what people can probably stand (and also use) for longer periods of time. Tbh, the post does somewhat come across as "140s still not strong enough" but some of us don't really have a problem with 140s being buffed its just that when they're not overly strong people tend to forget about the sheer number of complaints that people tend to make when they see them everywhere. Also pulse complaints from a certain level of player probably means pulses are in a pretty good spot. 140s could be the hands down best weapons in the game and a certain level of player will complain about pulses.

Let me guess, it should be HC and Shotguns running the show only, you’re not having fun so no one in the game can. I don’t think 99% of these post come from a genuine care for the general enjoyment of D2, so let’s stop pretending.

Edited by Guardian,Archon Of Light: 11/26/2024 2:17:29 AMBad example, PvE mains will get 3 tapped by Igneous, then instantly shotgun slid by an ape, then shut off the game But honestly , lack of interesting content and rewards are killing the entire game, the meta or crafting has little to do with it
-
Oh the "three tap/sniper warriors" are crying again.
-
Pulses only push away people that couldn’t compete with the exact same weapons or with other 340s. I use a 390 and I go flawless fine even against Graviton and elsie users. If everyone is mostly using the same weapons it’s longer just weapon it’s the player. And for the players that don’t use 340 pulses or even 120 hand cannons you just got to be better because you’re playing at a disadvantage of not choosing the meta.
-
what planet are you on? Seriously the apes just die to charging in the open and end up on the forums. I've yet to see a pulse i couldn't out-duel, and that's with the broken bygones that are gone now. SMGs run pulses into the ground, ARs flinch them into missing tons of shots, hand cannons still 3 tap with 120s doing even better with the buffs, grab a sidearm with a controller to hit crossmap with perfect accuracy. all pvp needs is less ability spam and more gun play.
-
Went into IB today and did just fine with a 450 auto and a scout. That's right, double primary. Know what I noticed? People charging down the middle of the map having no clue, as I imagine you probably do. Those poor fools probably thought my auto and scout were OP. A lot of you really seem like you could use some research into D2 pvp. Things like the 60% rule and which side your cover should be on could really help. I did quite well on my Warlock just keeping my boots on the ground, sticking with my randoms, and paying attention to radar. Still if anything is "OP", it's consecration. Pulses aren't even on the map as an issue. Just look at Destiny Tracker. Rose is the top of the meta by a fair degree.
-
Yeah pvp is absolutely horrible. I came back to the game almost a year ago maybe? And I thought it was bad when I quit but it's way worse now.
-
Edited by Spectra: 11/26/2024 9:02:00 AMIt’s not just pulses. A lot of weapons feel to forgiving, due to the accuracy increasing perks, damage perks or even raw stats. Tho I heard that’s Bungie’s way of combating 3rd party devices. Like fighting fire with fire.
-
Nah prismatic hunter drove me aways that whole subclass feels like actual garbage to play against. It's too oppressive and can lockdown half of a map.

Let’s make hand cannons the weapon you can use in pvp

Dw bro I’m sure the burgers that play 20 mins a week are loving it 😂

The auto meta a few months ago was much worse just nothing but kovistov and summoners spamming I still have nightmares about it. that ish was yuk

They are fine … PvP is fine

I agree about the Pulse rifles. They should not be able to 2 burst. But there are other problems too. First the body to crit multiplier has made everyone team shot which is boring. But if you do find yourself in a 1v1 and you are trying to use a primary because the average time to kill has increased secondaries are over powered in particular fusions and shotguns which seem to have more range than they used to. Personally I think the whole sandbox needs resetting to what it was before the final shape.
