PvP Rant

I am a PvP novice and working towards getting better. It's hard to get better when you are being slaughtered by all the sweaty boys. It is no wonder the PvP community in D2 is shrinking, beside the cheaters (that includes the the Xim and Cronus gimps) along with the typical PC hackers. I play console and play mostly with console players, with the exception of the PC players grouping (sneaking in) with a console player. I tried to run some trials, but was berated for being "garbage", common Bungie, get the lobbies better so a noob has a chance!! Any "good" advice for a guy just starting out? (Trolls on ignore)

  • Watch your spacing If you can't win 1v1s, team shoot with those who can Peak lanes, don't stand in them If you can't get kills with special weapons, don't use them. All you're doing is giving special to the enemy team. Sidearms are better than people think Use vertical space Find a play style that fits you If your losing a fight at range, disengage. Then find new angle Pay attention to spawns 2 zones is enough Use cover Slide thru doors Have an exit plan if you get swarmed. Stay near team is possible

  • Yeah, watch PvP streamers and see how they play. Find a gun type you like and don’t swap it off for weeks. Learn map layouts. Spawn locations. Special ammo spawns. Heavy ammo spawns (this one is important). Use an aim trainer like Osu or something. Learn what sense good players play on. What dpi. Learn to play with your team, teamshoot. You can work on any of these things. Not all at once because that’s overwhelming. Destiny 2 pvp maps are very well designed. You don’t want to be caught off guard, with most ttks being around 1 second or less. Learn to watch your radar, don’t challenge 1v2’s or 1v3’s.

  • I stopped with pvp ages ago it's just me getting destroyed for most of the time. Doesn't matter that I want that strand trace rifle from trials no loot is worth it.

  • You really came at the worst time ! PvP is fading out , Bungie aren’t doing anything with PvP and there’s nothing coming up ,so people have been leaving for a while . Now the player base is a lot smaller with the people left that live in control , playing for years and take far too seriously. Comp and trials are awful now and not many people go into those modes . My advice try to meet PvP players and learn from them …that’s what I did on my clan .

(Trolls on ignore)[/quote] I've been a pvp main since day one. Recently quite. My recommendation is don't bother with pvp. It's honestly not worth it. Every season bungie will make a bunch of promises, the patch notes will say some garbage about how certain weapons are being nerfed/buffed. And u will think "finally pvp will be good". I hate to break it to you, but pvp will never be good. Literally pick any other game with pvp and it will be better than this. Pick a game with only 2k players and it's match making will still be better than destiny's 392k. I wish someone told me before I first started playing "hey man don't pick up this game, it ain't worth it" it would have saved me years. That's my advice to you. Leave now before ur drawn to far in and continously come back thinking "maybe this time will be different". Just run man, RUN!!

    • 1. Trials is a tourney style Game Mode. You either fail or you succeed. I think it should only ever be Control Based Matchmaking. 2. For tips, find how you want to approach PvP. The Meta is simply a suggestion because any half decent player can make great use out of any weapon they have practiced with. Of course, certain weapons are going to be harder to use, and others, easier. But at the end of the day, no matter what people say, the Meta is relatively balanced where most options are viable in the Sandbox.

    • Dude don’t waste your fking time. I’m telling you straight up it’s absolutely horrible. Just go back to pve and forget about it Bungie doesn’t give 2 shits about our connections and our experience. They just have a hand out, collect the cash the shot on everything you just paid for. Scumbags

    • My advice is to respect that there are either crazy good / crazy cheaters out there (will be hard to distinguish) and just find your path to fun in the mode. For me it was sticking to a subclass, a strategy and iterations of horrible play until I figured out how to stay alive.. and that gives you a chance to get better. I stuck to void warlock because it seemed less ability needed.. and I really just wanted to focus on the awesome gunplay.. the super was 1 and done.. and back to gunplay. The strategy became 1 gun for mid/long.. 1 for short/mid.. all primary.. so scout/pulse/hc for long... smg/sidearm for short.. all mods to help the long range (targeting mod, reload, dexterity, flinch)... have a bunch of guns in the same element to switch in case you wanna try something else.. This is not the only way of course but it helped me focus (compartmentalize) on just getting good with what I got >> and it became a lot of fun. I switch out weapons nearly every game.. and that is a fun style for me. Also just remember PVP'rs come in all varieties if they can do it.. you can.. just gotta pay the price of learnin... like anything. Enjoy the process.
