This episode Revenant has been very short and repetitive so far, but imo what makes it so frustrating and annoying is the tonics system. Aside from a few boosts here and there, it has no benefit what so ever.

FOR THE LOVE OF THE TRAVELER, PLEASE FIX THE TONIC BREWING GUIDE LOCK OUT. My main character (warlock) is stuck on this mission. My titan and hunter had no issues and have basically skipped this entirely. I walk over to the ingredient wall to "Gather Ingredients" and nothing happens. I'm stuck at 1 of 4 and can't craft tonics at all on my warlock.
-
Worse than the fishing?
-
Tonics are lame. I don't even bother with the system.
-
It should have been freer. I feel like I'm still having to pay too much and do too much to use it.
-
yes getting more loot killed the episode
-
I simply don’t like the crafting process. 4 steps for every craft, with some occasional additional time wasted when our character transforms into a chicken or whatever.
-
tonics for ability is a huge W tonics for loot is ok
-
First off the terrible loot is killing this episode Secondly tonics are not useless, the artifact boosts are very nice and so is free loot anywhere in the system Congrats on being double wrong, wouldn’t expect anything less from you.
-
Can you imagine the time spent developing this disaster?
-
Thank you. Compare this current garbage season to the previous season. The previous season had story, mystery, discovery, collectibles, craftable weapons, and so on. It was such a pleasure to play, discover, collect. This season is pure garbage. Not only that, but it is full of bugs.
-
People are still playing this game?

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 11/20/2024 10:38:51 PMMe: *uses my stupid rare tomb flakes on garbage tonics so I can unlock weapon specific tonics *sees a blue tonic unlock, checks it out Chroma rush(Tomb of Elders) *closes game Who thought we needed separate tonics for the same weapon? Who thought we should have to use new materials to unlock tonics for the same act 1 weapons we already unlocked? Who thought we should even have a chance of unlocking these same weapon tonics before unlocking the new weapon tonics? This is such an egregiously obvious attempt to waste our time with tediously uninspired and insulting grind that shows a complete lack of respect for players.
-
Then don’t make tonics it’s that simple!
-
Edited by taskmaster51: 11/21/2024 12:10:42 AMYeah. This season sucks...tonics are horrible and I don't hink I like the new prison of elders either. The choil was so much better. Onslaught even stinks since it's not worth the loot
-
The tonics should be much more powerful to make it all worthwhile. Like a star eater tonic that allows you to stack 10 orbs instead of 6 or some such for mad dps. Like I want crazy potent tonics not some watered down tonics!
-
Not to mention the fact that they havent fixed it since day 1 of act 1. I can only craft tonics on 1 character now... if that breaks too im locked out of the main mechanic of the episode.
-
Eh at least yours work . My warlocks tonic making thing broke weeks ago
-
The grind for resources to make the tonics is not worth it in my opinion.
-
Way and by far my least favorite season since well Mercury and CoO.
-
The problem is - like so often - a deliberate design constraint. The rate limiting ingredients are enriching flake (onslaught), tomb flake (tomb of elders) and reflective flake (Kell mission). By purpose these drop in low quantities and hence force into endless repetitions of seasonal activities if you want to unlock/use all tonics. Not difficult but very time consuming. Intentional.
-
I wouldn’t go as far as to say tonics killed this season but they certainly added a frustrating level of tedium to an already tedious seasonal model. It’s annoying having to track your active timers in the menus for various buffs/loot focuses.
-
I've discovered 39 tonics, but no matter how many more I make, nothing new. Anyone else experiencing this kind of problem? And the who tonic thing is terrible anyway. I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates it.
-
Edited by Bored (Timelost): 11/20/2024 9:15:37 PMI see the tonics themselves as an extension of the artifact, I like the extra buffs personally but having to do the seasonal onslaught to get them. One thing I find frustrating is you aren’t awarded nearly enough to enjoy the buffs in other parts of the game.
-
I think I might've preferred if it was something similar to the dawning where you had to experiment with combinations to unlock cookies instead of wasting a bunch of materials spamming tonics for a chance at unlocking a new one.
-
not being able to process vestiges of light in cysts did it for me
-
Nobody is forcing you to make tonics. Play the story missions and move on.
