Can't authenticate my steam account
So based on what i am about to type, i fear that i may already know the answer to this but i'm going to see if i can get some help anyways. Sometime within the last 2 years my xbox account was banned for reasons that shan't be named and i had my steam account linked up for cross save. now i want to unlink my steam account from and start anew but every time i go to authenticate said steam account to unlink it, it seems to authenticate before refreshing the page to see that i have to do it again. as far as i know, i never launched destiny on steam and i shouldn't have any progress on it from my Xbox account that would prevent me from unlinking it (even though it probably doesn't work like that) i've tried using the companion app, i tried using a different browser, nothing seems to work

3 RepliesTo unlink an account you need to deactivate cross-save, to deactivate cross-save you need to be able to authenticate all accounts, banned platform accounts cannot be authenticated. The reason you're being immediately authenticated is because you're signing into Bungie.net as Steam, but you also cannot unlink the account you're currently signed into Bungie.net as. To remove your Steam from this account you need Xbox to lift the ban then you deactivate cross-save, sign out of Bungie.net and then sign back in to Bungie.net as your Xbox account, and then you can unlink it via Bungie.net settings. Bungie will not deactivate cross-save or unlink your Steam from the Bungie profile.
