Title says it, there's way too many projectiles that are flying around that get in the face of the player that interrupt the path of explosive weapons, causing self-kills way too often. It feels soul-draining to die because the AI enemies shot at you at the same time as you shot at them, and their projectile made yours blow up on collision. Would there be any way to rectify this? Make it so enemy projectiles hitboxes cannot collide with weapon projectile hitboxes? I'm getting really frustrated, and the "weapon polish" Destiny used to have feels lost when just using explosive weapons are feeling way too risky now when they can blow up in your face whenever with how many projectiles are in the game.

I recently "discovered" Prospector in my vault and have been absolutely LOVING the damage it does. But it kills me WAY too often. Anything that flies, will explode the rockets in your face. And sometimes, I swear, it just "backfires".

Too many of the adds want to rush up to give you a hug. Death by Thrall. In reality if you had such a "GL" and someone jumped out 2m in front of you then chances are it would miss them. What exactly they could do to restore a satisfying and accurate feel I'm not sure. Hesitancy to come up and give you a cuddle? 🤗 🤗 🤗 💥 Accurate, small hitboxes close-up? Reduced self-damage? Something, anything, would be great.

It's not so much the enemy projectiles as the eather siphon from the seasonal tonic stuff. Those little wisps that float toward you have a hit box that becomes a big problem for shooting projectile weapons. Tried using the call the other day and couldn't figure out why I was firing blanks until I noticed I was getting blocked by those dumb things.

Last night, right at the final boss on Tomb of Elders I blow myself up while 20 feet in the air and 50 feet from any enemies... THEN I see the shot I apparently made contact with. -blam!- Bungo code, man...
-
Yeah… it’s get really noticeable when scorn are the main enemy since 2 of their weapons have this issue. The void buzz saws in particular blocking GLs is particularly annoying
-
Literally had this happen to me while using a heavy GL last night on a boss. I still don’t know what I actually hit.
-
Yes! It’s completely ridiculous!
-
It's bad enough when some rando teammate decides to step right in front of you, much less this BS.
-
100% this is a problem when using GLs. Even on bosses, they magically shoot your grenade right when you start damage, and you -blam!-. This never used to happen as much as it does now.
-
I’ve noticed my grenades are getting shot out of the air all of a sudden. In previous seasons/expansions, this happened maybe once or twice every so often. Now it’s like clockwork. Wonder what Bungie broke this time 🤔

Edited by ForeverLaxx: 11/20/2024 6:58:12 PMNot only are a bunch of projectiles coded as objects specifically for this purpose, they've been spamming those types of enemies lately which compounds the problem. Plus, I'm pretty sure the AI is coded to dive you if you pull out a GL or RL because at most every other point (ignoring mobs that only charge you, of course), the AI will run away constantly. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to get far enough away while using a Heavy GL to blast the guy that refuses to leave more distance than your big toe between you and him while his Scorn Sniper buddies rapid-fire chainsaws at you. EDIT: and the above problem is reversed when you're using a Sword. I've had enemies match my speed, including the dash of the sword lunge, to be just out of range of a hit when running backwards while firing with perfect accuracy the entire time. It's extremely frustrating when the AI is so blatantly cheating.

Edited by COMBATICUS: 11/21/2024 12:50:29 AMThe thing I've noticed is that when I use my GL, I die almost instantly and say to "architect" And now it's clear that's its all the bullets and curving and homing bullets flying at you. It's gotten so bad I either use a MG or sword Edit: imagine all this is on purpose to increase player time lmao.

Yesterday I learned the scorn void disks can detonate your special launcher nades IN AIR. Ouch.
-
Yeah, I've noticed this is happening WAY more often this season. I'm guessing Bungie messed up something in the code. Either way, it's extremely annoying, and is making 2 different types of formerly very useful heavy weapons way harder to use than they should be.
-
I solved this issue with swordsplay, mainly ergo sum and ill omen casters, ran through contest of elders flawlessly
-
Edited by Raijinmeister: 11/20/2024 8:42:28 AMI did a post about this problem and of course it was ignored by BUNGO. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/264436330?sort=0&page=0 This forum is a waste of time.

I don't think its so much the projectile as the hit box it just feels massive like they are shooting cubes at you and if you're in the vicinity of one you're better off moving and not firing, but definitely something they need to look into.

Edited by CORPERATE COMMANDER: 11/20/2024 9:38:08 PMThis ^ bump!!
-
I never had this happen till the fight at the end of the “Act”. I feel it’s the spread of the weapon used in the fight. Does feel bad though as I’ve traded with hive knights for 10 some odd years and never encountered this issue.
-
Or any enemy type suddenly jumping/flying in front of you.... Let's not talk about player buddies... Anyway, there is a reason machine guns are my preferred heavy. Or swords.
-
This is out of control, on heavy GL's specifically. Had to give up on my wendigo go with the stasis wave heavy so I don't die.
-
Can't upvote this enough. This happened to me today when doing the Prison of Elders activity fighting Skolas.
-
Since I switched to the Dimensional Hyposomething wave frame heavy I haven't had all that many issues.
-
It's why I use swords a lot. Caster frames especially. Got so fed up with death by whatever whilst using GL or RLs.
-
I have long range tracking module rocket. Cabal threshers fear me. Just stay in the back, aim at a target, and fire before they see you.

Check area before firing
