So. Ghosts are sentient beings, and basically have souls, right? They also can be gendered and have pronouns. Sagira was always referred to as she and voiced by Morena Baccarin, a cis woman, Ghost is referred to as he and voiced by Peter Dinklage/Nolan North who are both cis men.
So here lies my question. If Ghosts are sentient and gendered, could a Ghost be trans? Or is a Ghost created in the form it’s meant to be, therefore they wouldn’t be trans?
There are some notable trans characters in the canon, specifically Micah-10 is who made me think of this, as she was born male but transitioned into a woman when she became an Exo and is voiced by a trans woman. You could TECHNICALLY count Oryx as well, since he was born female but the Hive are hermaphrodites, so he doesn’t REALLY count.
Just curious if there are any trans ghosts in the canon, or if would be possible.
Or maybe Ghosts don’t HAVE a gender and WE just give them names and genders and they run with it.

Ghosts are robots, created by a robot god, that brought us back as zombies. The ghosts are probably programmed with certain personality's upon creation and we kinda just pick a name for them. IDK, its a game, a weird game with lots of long plots and stuff I still don't understand, but I give you my take.

I don't think Ghosts have a gender since they don't have "downstairs bits". I am pretty sure they are just made that way.
-
What's with this "cis" BS? You can't just be called male or female anymore??.
-
Yes, some ghost identify as lamps, some as ships, some as pumpkins, mine identify as cayde-6 or a chopper

Most Ghosts name themselves. And there’s an obvious difference between male and female voices. So they choose their own names and their gender is obvious by their characteristics.

What the actual -blam- did I just read? And why?
-
I guess that ghosts come as either male or female, hence the male or female voices

Ghosts while alive, are drones at the end of the day. Robotic, living machines. As it stands, similar to applying Gender Ideology on the Hive, it just doesn’t work at the end of the day. They are too different in their anatomy and so very different societally that to try and apply an inherently human construct upon them just doesn’t work.
-
While Ghosts may have masculine or feminine voices I don’t consider them to have a gender.

The whole thing, all of it, is being who you want. Exo's, can choose to sound/look/see different, but I'll go further. They can change their appearance as well, they can look human or awoken...I'm sure as other things/beings as well. (That's head cannon, but it did some snooping on it, CoO also made the statement and no one cared, also if you play out the concept from an evolutionary stand point) Then there are people taking over people, because they are little predicted things, and versions of a baseline consciousness. I will say this, people don't like talking about it, because gender politics just seem forced. THE IDEA OF THE GAME IS TO GET ALL OF YOU PREPARED FOR THE FUTURE HUMANITY CREATED FOR ITSELF, AND THE INEVITABLE COLLAPSE AS WE BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND AND UNLOCK CONSCIOUSNESS ALONGSIDE AGI

Seeing as ghosts are logical beings, no.

Edited by Machine_DNA: 11/13/2024 7:18:08 PMI think they give themselves a gender. To my knowledge there is no ‘biological’ gender to any ghost. They choose their pronoun (or lack of) so technically they are whatever they choose.

They're machines bro. At best they probably have masculine/feminine programming, like Failsafe.

Personally, I feel it's the latter (i.e. - Do not have a biological gender), but our Ghosts would have masculine/feminine traits that are then inferred by our Guardians as either male/female Ghosts.
