Enough with the pulse rifles.
Now.
Announce how you're changing the meta so we at least make it back to the Dreadnaught.
You don't have to equalize usage. When there are too many pulses, autos, and scouts no one moves. When people crouch spam with subs and autos there's no reason to learn to aim.

There's one primary with a skill ceiling that creates a spectrum of player skill. It promotes good movement, positioning, ranging, aiming, timing... All things that lend themselves to other primary weapons. It is the indisputable choice of the most ardent Crucible players even when it's not your defined meta. (Save the ones that move to what ever cheese they can) Enough is enough.
Precision weaponry used correctly should always have a slight, but definitive edge as the basis of every meta.
Weapon variety is good and I'm glad we have arrived at a place where so much is viable.
But pulses are exceedingly strong, whether you feel things like Elsie's or Bygones are out of band or not. The game is slowing to a crawl.
IT'S NOT MAKING CASUALS PLAY MORE.
Casuals make demands and it doesn't change how often they play cause they were never inclined to improve in the first place. That's what makes them casual.
Return back to the design philosophy the PvP Strike Team had been working on before TFS dropped.
What happened to all the lessons learned from limiting abilities and special? PEOPLE WERE HAVING PRIMARY GUN FIGHTS AGAIN. With plenty of special without starting every fight with an ability.
Not another damn buff to Titan for the foreseeable future. They are plenty strong. They don't make proper builds and play into them. It's not forcing people to switch from Hunter, it's just pissing off the largest remaining portion of a dwindling pvp population.
The disparity between what one class can do from the next is blatant. Find another way to encourage diversity. You can't make these things any more FREEEEEEEE.

Enough with the shotguns

Edited by EMUracing: 11/8/2024 6:34:36 PMI would play more PvP if Mayhem was a permanent playlist. At this point, no other PvP is worth playing anymore.
-
Can't wait for PvE to suffer again because of a gamemode that has been bleeding players since it's inception.
-
Sad to see this forum downvote you so much when you’re genuinely trying to improve the PvP experience but this forum loves free stuff and probably will downvote any PvP related thread not liking free weapons

The thing is it’s not even Titan as a whole. It’s literally just prismatic and void to a lesser extent. Arc Titan melee got buffed but do you see any more arc titans. Ofc not.EVERYONE IS JUST ON THE 1 KILL equals to 3 kills on pris titan and get this…. No ability cooldowns required. They COMPLETELY BUTCHERED base knockout on arc Titan only to give UNNERFED KNOCKOUT TO PRIS TITAN. THIS IS SO -blam!- STUPID BUNGIE. -
Balancing is -blam!- too, you know you lost at the intro screen when you see your team vs the lobby you matched
-
Worst meta ever: prismatic hunter and titans everywhere, now pulse rifles everywhere. Good gameplay dies cause of this meta.
-
Reading the comments, and wow, people don't get it. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU THINK PULSES ARE BALANCED OR NOT WHEN THEY ARE THE MOST USED PRIMARY BY A WIDE MARGIN Destiny thrives on variety, and when that variety is gone, it withers. The PVP meta can be boiled down to a VERY short list 1) Prismatic Hunters and Titans 2) Pulses, especially Bygones, Aggressive Bursts, and High Impacts 3) Solar and Prismatic Warlocks to a lesser degree 4) Handcannons and shotguns to a lesser degree, especially 140 and 120 HCs, and Precision / Aggressive shotguns And like 90% of Hunters are using one of three Exotics: Knucklehead, Stompees, or Relatavism. 90% of Warlocks are using Ophidians, Transversives, or Soliphism. At least Titnas have a little more Exotic armor variety than the other classes, but it's still mostly Stoicism and Dunemarchers. The ENTIRE META is like 4 subclasses plus one of 6 pulses or a 140 / 120 handcannon, maybe a Precision or Aggressive shotgun, and one of 3 Exotic armor pieces. Done. That's it. Nothing else is used to a meaningful degree. IT IS BORING TO PLAY THE SAME COOKIE-CUTTER PLAYERS EVERY GAME. It always has been, no matter the meta. it's especially boring in a pulse meta where low handling, high range, and a fast TTK discourage pushing. Bungie NEEDS to buff the underperforming subclasses (like SOLAR TITANS, my gosh these have disappeared) and weapons (when was the last time you saw a Glaive?), or they need to nerf the current meta so other stuff will be used.

Casuals don't demand anything - because they're casual - only people who play this game way too much demand things; e.g. you.
-
lol it’s destiny pvp …it’s a space magic game ?! We also know that people are leaving in mass . Destiny pvp is done .
-
It's currently terrible is why. It's like I am playing a PVP MOBA game sometimes with all the ability spam. PVP has the maps it needed but now the gameplay sucks....
-
It’s just punishing to apes.. it’s pve game has nothing to do with meta at all.. also this meta is fun
-
There are still a lot of handcannons out there. And way more annoying sliding/jumping shotgun apes (all classes) making cqc a real pain in the ... I detest shotgunning way more than any pulse ever could achieve. Nothing improved the special ammo economy, if at all it got worse.
-
oh hey look this guy has a rose on wouldn't have guessed. skill issue. other than bygones, pulses and hand cannons are fine. i don't think the 140 nerf was needed though. autos and smgs need buffs. they're losing players because of bygones and high ground. you can't add something so game breaking in a declining userbase. that and they are not gaining new players because there are 0 catch up mechanics in a game that requires them. we need weapon focusing for old weapons and crafting for new weapons. plain and simple.
-
It went from nothing but hunter abilities to nothing but Titan abilities. They def need to tune the -blam!- down for everyone people get good at ability use not guns, the amount of times latly I’ve seen a dimond lance titan tear through a whole team with nothing but broken as punches is literal nonsense

Edited by Azura, Pronouns Haver: 11/8/2024 11:58:59 PMAs a pulse enjoyer, I hate that the current best pulse rifles make it so that you just don’t have to engage. Autos and SMGs are ok-ish I guess, maybe a small AA reduction or something idk. Scouts are what really bother me, specifically jade rabbit. I propose giving it more flinch. If you wanna act like a sniper you can be treated like a -blam!- sniper. However, making HCs the best weapon will honestly alienate a lot of people as they have the steepest learning curve. Handcannons are awesome and I like them, but making them the best will honestly piss off more people than it will appease. That said, I do agree that the current meta is rough and isn’t enjoyable.

Edited by Inquisitor Lar: 11/8/2024 11:37:59 PMI think you raise some good points that I broadly agree with. Anyone remotely acquainted with PvP in the last few months can’t help but feel aggrieved by the sedentary, crouching, lane’ing, Elsies enjoyer in their own spawn. Full disclosure - I love pulses and I think there’s been a decent amount of diversity, in terms of weapon selection of late, but they can encourage a timid, passive play style, which is frustrating to oppose. Perhaps this is also a commentary on the maps we have - smaller, more confined ones (that are presently lacking) would militate against that play style. I have to say though - out and out HC metas are horrific and let’s not kid ourselves that the Lunas - Not Forgotten trigger spam was an especially skilful era, for example. It was by any metric, dreadful. For me, anyway.

Edited by Morakx: 11/9/2024 10:28:23 PMI'm sorry but if you actually think the weapon meta has any remotely significant effect in the player loss, you are lost. My guy, the game has thousands of way more impactful issues that make ppl quit. If Bungie cant even tackle those, their least concern is some op pulse rifles in pvp (the game mode that has been abandoned since 2019) We are losing players because Bungie has given up on Destiny 2. They have shifted the majority of their workforce towards other new games or simply fired them due to the CEO needing more cars. You feel it as a player when you play a game, not even the developer and publisher cares about anymore. The game feels like a life support cash cow thats only kept alive to sell mtx's in the cash shop. THAT is why ppl quit pvp. And pve.

Hot take: Sidearms are what hand cannons always should have been. Range is for long pointy guns.
-
What is the primary you speak of in your spoiler? Because as a casual I have no idea what your going on about. Crucible has not been in favor of casuals for a while now. As a casual: You want me to play? Then let me play only players in my skill level and DO NOT require me to repeat the 7 or 8 placement games every season. That just drives players away, because NO one likes being slaughtered and being killed 15- 20 times in a match for 8 matches just to get back to where they were last season. It makes no sense. Bungie can track my life time kills and stats but they can't keep me in the same skill bracket form season to season. Seriously! Just my 2 cents.

It’s not the weapons it’s the mode structure and rewards. Need to enhance comp, need to give an adept in trials for participating unfortunately because each week the population gets lower and lower. Took me about 12 hrs last week to get 7 wins because the game kicked me to orbit and had to grind to 7 twice. People will play if they feel their time and effort is rewarded and trials is not worth it even just for 1 adept. Forcing players to stay is dumb so people can’t quit when they feel defeated holds progress up in other matches they would have won. Everyone please stop complaining about that youre also hurting the game
-
Lag and weird things happening is just too much. So a bad pvp gameplay is the biggest reason for players quitting.
-
-
Nobody wants to play against super sweats and with the introduction of sbmm the players started leaving in drove.

Casuals don't demand anything. Casuals don't know forums exist. Casuals don't care enough to delve deeper, if they're not having fun they play another game, read a book, go to sleep, go for a walk, go to the pub. If you want to see real casuals drop your power to 1750 & go run some nightfalls. I did that today, OMFG, guys running triple grenade launchers, triple snipers, guys with 6 stats all at 39, guys who get lost, guys who die & just leave, guys who genuinely can't understand how their glaive won't kill the barrier champ & despite it insta killing them keep respawning & repeating. Try running comp on a new account, I just did, guys who have meta loadouts but can't aim, guys who can aim but can't move, guys who go 0.18 & then apologize because they only play a few hours every weekend & are exhausted from working 90hr weeks. People complaining about meta guns on a forum, like you, are by definition very far from casual.

You gonna fill us in on what this magical Primary Pulse that wins the game for you is? Or are you just making it up to dodge some of the more pressing issues at play?
