I don't know what's going on, but lately, the censorship in the text chat is ridiculous.
First of all, I have censorship turned off, so NO WORDS should be getting censored in the first place. If someone says something cruddy, I would rather see it and know to report them, rather than guess. What's the point of having a setting to turn off censorship if things are going to get censored anyway!?!?
Second, it's incredibly overzealous. It's censoring things like my friends' names. (And I'm talking about their actual real life name, not their gamertag) This is incredibly annoying, especially at times when I'm trying to talk to them or tell them what's going on cause we are not in a voicechat. This one boggles my mind the most.
Anyway, mainpoint is, WHAT is the point of having a setting to turn censorship off if the system/game is going to censor things anyway!?

Gaming companies are absolutely terrified of players and many of them would gladly remove chats from their games. Welcome to the ....ified reality of an overly judicious society, where everything and anything can become a potential piece of a legal process. And this is why even with profanity filters off chat will censor anything they want.
