For those unaware, BattlEye has recently announced that they are added support for Steam's Proton Linux compatibility layer. This allows Linux users to play some Windows games on Linux. At the moment, playing Destiny 2 is not possible as the anti-cheat gets flagged.
This new added support for Proton is on an op-in basis, and as far as I'm aware, it is simple to opt-in.

We are getting super close to the end of 2024 and linux desktop market share is almost at 5% Steamdeck has sold millions, Opening in Australia now also next month which will make the market share go up even higher, which means more users will discover that destiny 2 wont work on the handheld ootb requiring them to dualboot windows on it for some dumb reason because YOU BUNGIE cant enable proton support with battleye My friend had enough of windows 10 blue screening with the finals last week and he installed bazzite a steamos immutable linux desktop distro, he hasnt had ANY issues with the games we play like the finals, overwatch 2, apex legends, even games that arent out yet like fragpunk support linux/steamdeck already WAKE UP AND RELIES THAT LINUX IS A VIABLE PLATFORM BUNGIE!
