My name was lost in the unfortunate Name Ban Wave of the August 2024 update.
It defiantly did not break any CoC terms for names.
I already had a token and changed the default "guardian####" name I was given to what it is currently.
This was before Bungies announcement that they'd be giving a name change token to fix this.
I later assumed I would get the Name Change Token and would be able to restore my original name once that happens. But I don't seem to have got the token yet.
When I try to change it back to what it was, it gives me a notification that "You can change your bungie name only once".
This is very unfortunate :( I'd been using my original name since joining this exciting universe before Beyond Light.
Is there any chance that I can change my name back to what it was?
Give me some hope.

Bungie issued the tokens a few weeks ago universally to all accounts. Keep in mind they are not an item, just a permission to change one's name. To change one's name the new name must be in alignment with the Code of Conduct and Bungie name policy. It is worth noting that while they did fix the issue, some names that were impacted are still not able to be selected as they were before. Bungie is investigating that.
