Glaives are a joke.

First off, each Exotic Class Glaive needs to do more damage and have an intrinsic champ mod effect after aiming with full glaive energy. Solar=Barrier. Arc=Overload Void=Unstoppable. Catalysts for them would be nice too. Graverobber, Subsistence, and some other stupid perk option. Why not. Secondly the damage on these in endgame content is really bad and enemy damage will ignore the glaive shield too often, making it a coin toss whether you shield up and survive. Stopping health regen while guarding needs to go. And lastly, damage perk and Exotic perk compatibility is a -blam!- mess. Almost as bad as special Grenade launcher hidden stat and magazine/frame BS. Creating a weapon type just to stifle its synergy and potential out of paranoia and fear of players having fun and actually killing strong enemies with Glaives just BLOWS MY MIND. Let the damn things breathe for once.

  • Range needs to be buffed and the hit box for precision hits need to be much improved. I would love to see the blast look like how jotunn hits the enemy.

  • Glaives just need slightly better hit reg, make velocity faster slightly and they are in a really scary good spot

    For me a glaive=glimmer and gunsmith rank I auto dismantle everyone I get Hopefully Revenent doesn't have any taking the spot of a good weapon (And yes I have used them and I am not parroting a Youtuber)

  • The exotic ones are disappointing but anyone who thinks they are bad in generally clearly just watched their favorite YouTuber say that and are now parroting it for attention. Maybe use one and you’ll see they are not as bad as you seem to think they are.

Let the damn things breathe for once.[/quote] A buff to the exotic glaives, sure. Glaive block is 97.5% damage resistance. Enemies ignoring your block? What? Health regen can occur when blocking so long as you are not taking damage. You can stack dr on top of the shield block to make yourself immune to damage. Vexcaliber does this on its own and is getting better with the buff to void os coming. The block on Gaines is very good. It doesn’t need a buff. Don’t know what your last point is about.

    • I love glaives but the exotic ones just stay in my vault as they are meh. I long for a glaive in the kinetic slot and would run them a lot more than I currently do if we had a legendary stasis or strand glaive. The powered melee issue just drives me mad, total bonkers that it hasn't been addressed.

      • From what i can tell its explosive damage. The glaive shield should curve around us slightly to prevent the explosive damage from bypassing the shield. Id love intrinsic anti champion. Thats a great idea. But i dont know if they need a lot more. I would love to see them increase the generation rate of passive shield energy. Or allow us to regen health through the shield if we've stacked enough dr to not take damage from the hit. That would be cool. But the tradeoff has to be damage. They cant out damage or even compete with weapons that offer zero survivability. Or every other weapon in the game would be obsolete. I love glaives. I have more kills with my nezarecs whisper than i do with most other weapon types. They work really well for what they are. If anything i think just preventing the explosive damage from bypassing the shield and maybe anti champ on the exotics would be great without taking it to far.

      • I wish they would do something to them to make them more appealing. I would really like to either be able to use our powered melee while wielding the glaive, or use the powered melee through the glaive itself. I can't imagine it would be that hard to disable that in PvP only if that is the issue...

        • Just the fact that we’re running a glaive should be enough to let glaives double melee in PvP. Like I understand Bungie thinks it’ll be too strong, but using a glaive in the first place is reason enough for them to double melee. Maybe slow down the animation a lil. Shield needs to tank more damage too, I also think that your shield should automatically activate when you’re being shot at, or have a perk for it or something. I’d also like to see glaives get an exotic or something that lets you deflect projectiles like Arc Staff.

          • I’m more of a Twilight Axe guy… it would be awesome if they made super weapons into exotics or maybe even a new rarity.
