So, Marathon, according to Paul Tassi, will sell for $40 and have the standard premium battle pass...

Primary justification; Helldivers 2 did it... Concord did it, too, but it massively failed. Reasonable price, given the good will burned. Still not convinced to buy. What do you guys think?

  • I don’t have a problem with a price tag as long as it meets two things. Money really isn’t an issue since most games have a price tag to them, there’s no reason it “has” to be free to play. Thing one: it has to be a good fun game obviously Thing two: it has to be unique and offer something other games don’t do. The extraction shooter market has a lot more leeway compared to the hero shooter market (since I see people thinking this will even be remotely a concord situation which I will lol to). The market here isn’t as established like the hero shooters are, if bungie gives it something new that others don’t have, they got a game that can actually take off. We won’t know till it’s out. Tarcov is a big one here but it has its problems, it’s not a genre that has a lockdown in it just yet and bungie is trying for a piece of that our while it’s still viable to. I’m just glad they’re branching out into something different cause so many studio don’t do it and would rather play it safe. We don’t know what we’re gonna get with marathon and that has me curious at least.
