Really confused on who is giving the feedback on these warlock changes that do nothing for the problems with these abilities.Damage resist is always nice in high end content however the supers that you’re giving the resist buffs don’t need resist buffs as much as they need other changes.
People aren’t using stormtrace as much because the damage is pitiful even with damage increasing exotics.
People aren’t using chaos reach because the damage is pitiful even with damage increasing exotics plus it has the longest cast time in the world and you’re lowering your own dps using it. plus you have to run normal arc warlock which is it’s own problem case.
People aren’t running nova warp because the damage sucks yes but also volatile means nothing on its attacks and having the charge each attack for little effective return feels bad. Give it suppress on hit and I guarantee it’ll become much better in every mode. If you want to keep the volatile then make it apply on dark blink like astrocite verse does for neutral blink.
The lightning surge change doesn’t really do much. Resist on a neutral ability is admittedly much nicer and adding it to abilities like this is a change I really like but the problem is the risk is not worth the reward in high level content if it just gets you killed for going in and doesn’t kill your hit target. I think lightning surge should lean more into increasing damage around groups of enemies (which it kinda already does, it just needs more). Make it chain jolt effect continuously for a couple of seconds on hit and I feel like that could be huge.
We mean meaningful and engaging changes to retain engagement and these are just recent patches are missing the mark.

I wrote my thoughts on the Stormtrance "buff" yesterday on this post here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/264322451/0/0 Absolutely in agreement with your assessment of Stormtrance and Nova Warp, but only slightly with Chaos Reach. Even though you are losing out on DPS once you reach a certain threshold (due to damage windows), having it quickly available for the next damage phase and pairing it with a burst Heavy weapon such as Grenade Launchers is great as you usually end up empty on ammunition late in the fight anyways. The Arc Warlock subclass is in a decent state, in my opinion but I love it anyways. If they keep the two Artifact Perks with Damage Resistance and Lightning Strikes on Amplified Arc kills as Fragments or Aspects permanently it would stay in a good spot, with some tuning to the Super damage.
