Lets keep this simple... If you wanted it back, drop a comment saying so and downvote,
if you wanted gone, leave a upvote or a comment saying so.
Maybe i'm officially clinically insane, but this seems like the most unwanted thing they could have done.

datto. datto “wants to talk to his friends”. that was seriously this idiots justification. i honestly believe bungie pays this moron as some sort of consultant. what a terrible decision. this is a very very bad idea. this is dumb ona level it’s hard to understand l. i absolutely hate this decision. final shape has been absolute trash tier.

Edited by Reprimer: 9/24/2024 3:56:37 PMIt’s 10 levels in a 18 week season

Edited by iCypher: 9/20/2024 11:06:17 PMIts because we didnt want it. they only give this community what we DONT want.

I think the real question is why the first Bungineer that uttered this idea wasn't fired on the spot.

This return to how it used to be is mega boring and annoying, a good majority of all my stuff in my vault is still left at 1900 since TFS except exotics those i got to 2000 and other few legendaries here & there. But doing this will completely negate the whole "highest PL in fireteam is leading and others get bumped up to follow" thing they did, is this what they think we want? More power level grind? No we do not. They only did this as a means to make sure NOBODY except a few will do the contest mode dungeon, they DON'T WANT people to all be at a decent equal advantage, now all we'll see is the streamers & whatnot, the top %, get grinding to hit the "new" cap and just redeem stacks of bounties to unlock mega amounts of artifact levels day 1. Bungie wants to make sure their "contest" is as rigged as possible so that the gap between the average player and the no-grass-toucher-streamers get a big PL gap advantage. It's the ONLY reason they're bringing it back, because "cOnTeST mOde DuNgEon rACe" which nobody, not a single soul, asked for them to do that.

It's completely useless and I approve and upvote this post.

No sane person wanted another LL/Power increase. It serves as nothing more as an arbitrary grind for player engagement without any true reward for chasing it. It's 2024, the year of our lord, and it just needs to be done with and sunset with half of the other outdated content that doesn't see the light of day anymore. If Bungie wants to see true player engagement, have more people spend more time, they need to go back to the tried and true method they used back in D1: loot. They could make or bring back Strike-themed weapons and armor. Hell, even bring in some of the cool ones we saw back in TTK like Ma'ul's Maulers. They could increase the stat distribution of Artifice Armor drops so people can have the incentive to go for the armor and not feel deflated when getting a sub-60 stat spread from their Master run. Maybe even do the same for Raid armor so old raids feel inviting. This day and age, only a fraction of the playerbase have actually touched (let alone even want to) Garden of Salvation and Ghosts of the Deep is hardly on folks' bucket lists. For Christ's sake, there are exotic ornaments from back in Faction Rallies that haven't come back in any manner and while granted that they are terribly minuscule in their visual changes, loot is still loot. This may very well be the last era of Destiny if they still can't manage to turn things around. What does it matter if they bring back old armor ornaments and other such things from the earlier days of D2? They need to stop focusing on their same old outdated model for releasing "Seasons" and only marginally changing the PvP environment. They need to break out of the mold and really shake things up. And if their upper management doesn't wanna listen to them and nobody's got the spine to tell them that they're dumbfücks for unwittingly(assumingly) burning their IP's reputation as if it were a good 'ole southern book burning, that's all they will be remembered for. There are talented developers, designers and art/music teams that have worked at Bungie, make no mistake. They can turn this ship around even if it's covered in holes and barely batched up with ducttape, spit and the long hours of feeling burned out throughout the work week. But somebody has take hold of the steering wheel and set it on the right course. And if nobody from Bungie will, somebody from Sony will make sure to do so even if they have to steer it into a proverbial iceberg.

I would not mind if the reward algorithms were smart and looked at what you needed and dropped that item. Yes some grind but you would know it's not wasted effort. Not sure it will ever happen as that would mean Bungie was looking after it's players interests!
-
Literally anything to make the grind more. I swear to god, someone needs fired or slapped in the mouth. It's finally been in a respectable spot and they gotta screw it up. Some of us have a life, kids, work, etc. Last damn thing I want to do is regrind for power level every single damn season. It's hard enough getting the weapons we want. You want to lose veteran players that are burnt out don't you? Some of you saying its only 10 levels. That's 10 levels on every single weapon and armor piece you use. Not a simple thing to do. Some of us like switching it up every time we get to play, some of us like to use all the weapons we grinded our asses off to get. So we're supposed to use the same loadouts every single day now because they decided it was in their best interest to bring back seasonal power level grinds...bullshit Bungie. We didn't ask for this, we asked to get rid of this. Respect our time ffs.
-
Forum members are getting upset over a trivial issue. The change affects mainly endgame players as Bungie stated. Veteran players like myself KWTD to level up efficiently. The change will not affect us as Bungie believes. Begin saving your bounties. You will have a much easier time to level up quickly when the new content becomes available, if you save bounties now. The power from the artifact is more important than primes. Ensure that you know how and when to decrypt primes. You must learn this, if you want to level up efficiently, or you will get armor that has a duplicate power level.

I wanted it back. This is great. This actually gives a purpose for me to actually go out and do weekly pinnacles again. Increasing the power cap is a good move. It should have never been removed. All you who are crying about it are just simple casuals who want a easy game and for everything to be handed to you on a silver platter.

I hated having to regrind every season, instead of just being able to enjoy the season, and the fact that it's being reintroduced is making me seriously question wanting to keep playing this game anymore.
-
I’m cool with it
-
I mean it's easy to level up. Plus yall are still gonna play regardless of what happens. I don't mind it because it's artificial plus it's something to do for the time being. Plus I can always play something else when I get bored of destiny
-
Yep I want it back
-
Bungie obviously does not give a -blam!- about what guardians think
-
No we dont want it back...and Bungie deserves what they're about to get for changing this again. "players have been able to steadily climb in Power...due to the absence of a Power level cap increase...we’re confirming today that we also won’t be raising the Power level cap in Season 22. We’ve seen a ton of positive feedback on this decision from players who appreciate being able to play at their own pace, rather than feeling compelled to chase Pinnacles each week."
-
All things considered, the changes to power leveling in Final Shape make reaching the power band SO MUCH EASIER. Now, the pinnacle gear you earn counts across all characters, instead of being restricted to what weapons are in your vault or what armor is in your inventory. E.g. Do all the Pinnacles on one character and progress their power to 2002. Then, the next character will have Pinnacles dropping at 2004 Power Level (since all Pinnacle sources are +2 Power, IIRC). Then the third character will have further increased Pinnacle drops. Given the length of Episodes, you can readily reach the new power cap at your leisure. I don't disagree that not having an increase in the power band on an Episode-by-Episode basis would be better, but the changes to Power Leveling should make it a lot less of a grind than previously.
-
Gonna put on the tinfoil hat and say this change was likely announced just to be canceled at some point, then when it is, Bungie can make the folks who fussed think they won. Just my 2 cents.
-
Have hated the power grind for quite some time. Unwelcome news for me. Get rid of this tiresome 'make number bigger' malarkey.
-
Nope. With everything power capped, like -5 dungeons, what is the actual point? Power level is currently irrelevant. However, if things revert to where we can over-level, then yeah, it makes sense.
-
Hell no!

Hell no!

Die hard Destiny player here. This is literally the reason I quit playing for quite awhile. I was doing the pinnacle grind on all three characters every season...and one season I just couldn't do it again. Literally couldn't bring myself to do it again. I just hit pinnacle on my warlock this past week. I thought I was done with it for the year, little did I know. But I'm not doing it again lol.

Grand masters and contest mode should be the only content where you are purposely under leveled. I miss over leveling Master content. If you want me to grind power levels then it better be worth my time and not some arbitrary number.
