Bungie, you spent years upon years honing your craft of crating a game that has so much buildcrafting possibilities that most games could never even hope to dream to get anywhere close... Yet you yourselves are the ones limiting these endless possibilities every season/episode by FORCING metas through your champion system.
We can all agree that champions are incredibly easy when countered, so assuming we obey the meta, they are actually easier than non-champions. If there is a handful of builds I am absolutely loving to play with but cant use these builds because they don't stagger most or every kind of champion, I cant, or shouldn't use these builds and instead I am either incentivized or required to play what I am not enjoying as much or at all, to accommodate your counter system. Why are we dealing with a system that forgoes skill in exchange of limiting choice?
Please considering swapping out champions for another source of difficulty that doesn't require i use a specific type of weapon or ability.
To the try-hard that will defend champions by saying we should keep them by screaming skill issue while saying they are easy: You played yourself.

This 1000%, but it will never happen. If anything, they may add more. This is a "poorer shooter" that does to get you addicted to the grind. The idea of champions was implemented to get folks to use and grind other weapons that they wouldn't normally use in their builds. In the future, I see them adding some other champion type that has something to do with armor, instead of weapons. This will get players to diversify their armor. They could easily do this now by adding built-in elemental damage resistance.
