We are 100% committed to Destiny as a franchise, to improve, innovate, and keep it relevant and fun.
Then IMMEDIATELY have us battling RNG for literal hours to collect a handful of worthless engrams.
For a seal, a legendary armor set and an emblem.
Christ, this is as bleak as that Willy Wonka experience in Scotland.
Where’s the depressed Oompa Loompa chick?
Improvement? Nope
Innovation? Nope
Fun? Nope
Relevant? To what? To Destiny? Sure…I guess this so called celebration is typical of Destiny. Minimum effort, minimum satisfaction. Right? Congrats. At least you got 1 out of 4.
There are so many little things you could have done for this. And it wouldn’t have cost you that much work.
A 10th anniversary shader or glow
A 10th anniversary mod, like Sweaty Confetti
Have the OG D1 theme blaring in the tower
A couple of balloons in the tower with a 10 on them.
A little resource gift pack.
F*ck, spruce it up a little, will ya?

I'm glad I don't waste my time chasing after and or grinding for titles/seals. 😌 Just be like me and don't do them. You're not missing out on anything important.
-
Yeah its def a middle finger. Most boring event ever and didn't even think that was possible after solstice. Lines up perfect with the low effort final act weekly story that had us do the exotic for the missuon for a third, and potentially 4th time if you care about the epilogue. I've been floating around the top 100 for active triumph score but my god are they making it really hard to keep playing the game. It feels like they design the game to pad out the most amount of playtime instead of actually focusing on being fun. Like who tf thought it was fun to go back and do the same mission this many times? I'm sorry but encore is not that great, the only positive thing I can say about the mission is the first boss fights music goes hard, but even then its just a variant of the darkness theme.
-
Minimum effort on their part, maximum effort on ours. And whoever thought of the requirements for the seal needs to be executed for the sake of humanity. On one hand you have completing the latest campaign missions on their hardest settings, on the other you have running around one of the first areas in the original game mindlessly looking for imaginary engrams that aren't there. Oh, and the ironic meta of hunting for non-existent engrams in an area once known for making you drown in them wasn't lost on me (but nor is it appreciated either)...
-
It's perfect! And, it speaks for itself. It shows Bungie's appreciation, "retrospective" - of those ten years.
-
We all love this game for longer than we should. Time finally to move on and be free .
-
You know what Bungie said, never over deliver. LOL
-
Edited by Yosemite Sam: 9/11/2024 1:32:23 PMI like how the player base has paid them millions and this is how they show their appreciation 🤣 You can't pay for this kind of entertainment 😁 Edit: Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but if people didn't buy TFS they don't get to celebrate the 10th anniversary? If this is true, this is really close to the most scummy thing any developer has ever done for an anniversary. What makes it worse is the ones defending it saying "It's a free event". Not even DE with Waframe is as scummy as this business has become. Hey, come "celebrate our 10th anniversary, a free event" to where we should be showing you our appreciation for supporting us all these years, but we want everyone for a second time to pay us". Oh, and don't forget to buy the dungeon to where we set icebreaker as bait that will not be as its former self and we will most likely have a set date to nerf it. Happy anniversary!
-
Apparently, Ice Breaker is going to be locked behind the Dungeon next Season. Which you still need to buy separately from the Season. Do with that information what you will.
-
The worst part of getting the title is getting to rank 8 guardian rank
-
Very easy solution: don't do it. I got the armor and couldn't care less about the rest. Won't be wasting my time "chasing" engrams
-
Yeah I’m not doing this. Spent an hour at Skywatch for 2 engrams. Nope.
-
I've gotten *ONE* freaking engram. This is the dumbest crap I've ever seen. Make the loot cave great again 😂
-
-
Took me 5-6 hours total across two days to grind the engrams in Skywatch. Using Ogre, heroic events, and basically killing everything I saw, trying to pick up every ammo brick I could in case that affects drop rates, etc. Twenty minutes to get the 100% kills. Makes no sense to have two objectives for the same quest step be so dramatically different in terms of time sink. This smacks of not being well thought out in the slightest. Grinding mobs in a starter zone for hours on end is not fun, Bungie. It's a chore. You know better, which makes it disappointing you chose this route.
-
Kinda dumb it doesn't count gunsmith engrams, I've gotten so many more of them than the ones that count.
-
I’m not convinced I should reinstall D2…
-
You obviously didn't play destiny 1, this is the destiny 1 grind shoved into d2. The loot caves only made this grind somewhat bearable.
-
I got the seal already. The engram grind was tedious. Everything else was easy and enjoyable. Nothing I wouldn’t do except that skywatch BS.
-
Eh, destinys a fun game. I've spent enough time playing older games, I'm excited to jump back in
-
Edited by 0interestrates: 9/11/2024 10:27:37 PMIve played d1-d2 since alpha. I have one title because they locked every title behind having friends and being top 10% in pvp. These people literally do not care about 90% of the player base. Also im constantly up against humters with invis for half the match in qp and iron banner or players lagging so match a shotgun slug to the chest takes 3 seconds to register because my opponent has 250 ms ping.
-
Well, I guess I'm par for the course --maybe 1.5 hours and 33% 😆 I had to stop!!! It's not like we haven't got our hours in there to begin with😎🙄
-
The damned thing has stopped tracking engrams for me.
-
It took less than 5 minutes to collect the cayde stashes to get the extremely basic looking armor and the okay looking emblem. I read the forum complaints about an engram grind, laughed and thought to myself "typical bungie" and decided to skip it. Thanks to those willing to waste their time for a purple word under their name so I didn't have to experience it myself 👍
-
Two Hours and just 13%. Even with the Ogre "Farm" Method. This is the worst -blam!- I've ever seen in this Game.
-
Yeah I've been running around Skywatch and found one engram and we need 14? Is the loot cave coming back? Lol
-
I got 7 in 30 mins. There is a method, look it up.
