I played on stadia. When stadia was shutting down I connected my epic games account to my stadia account, but in fear that it wouldn't work I then also linked it to a brand new play station account. I stopped playing destiny but got a ps5 yesterday and created a brand new account bc I did not remember the account I made 3 years ago and never used. Now I want to play Destiny on it and can't because to remove that playstation account that is linked it have to sign into the playstation account which I cant do. When I try to reset that PlayStation account through sony it ask for my date of birth and it says it is incorrect, and that is the only way to reset my password for that account to remove it. So what can I do to get that account off so I can play destiny on my new ps5 without starting completely over.

Edited by EckyThump: 8/24/2024 4:37:05 PMHey there. First things first, as your characters originate from Stadia, you are forced to keep cross-save active at all times - deactivating cross-save will cause you to lose access to your current character set forever, they will not be recoverable. https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/10347044092564-Save-Your-Stadia-Characters
Consequences of Deactivating Cross Save After January 18, 2023, players with Google Stadia as their primary account SHOULD NOT deactivate Cross Save for ANY REASON. Doing so will result in players completely losing access to their characters.
Because of this, it means your existing PSN account is stuck in your cross-save setup. Even if you could recover the password for it, the only way to remove it is to cancel cross-save first. This, as above, will cause you to lose your Stadia-originating characters permanently. Unfortunately then, it just isn't possible to get a new PSN account connected to your Stadia characters. You'd either have to recover and log into the old PSN account on your PS5, or start fresh. Bungie does not forcibly unlink accounts or cancel cross save.

You'll need to work with Sony to gain access to that acct. If they can't assist you, then nothing can be done. Bungie cannot forcibly unlink the acct for you.
