Error code anteater nonstop

Hi there, I’ve been receiving anteater codes since the update. I read the help page stating it’s a general networking error and assumed it was something on my side. So I started troubleshooting everything. I followed every step in your advanced troubleshooting guide. I’m a Senior IT Engineer so I’m very familiar with my home networking setup. I tried anything and everything. My son also plays on a PC, and he is getting the same issues. I’ve read your replies saying Bungie automatically gets these reports and are looking into it, but certain modes are just unplayable currently. Here’s some more info that might help your team discover what the problem is. The behavior is a black screen that suddenly appears in activities that allow for rejoining. It says “Trying to reconnect” in red along the bottom along with code anteater, and I can still access my inventory. My guardian doesn’t appear laggy to others when this happens and I simply go still. Eventually, typically between 30-180 seconds I reappear in the activity, but without any special or heavy ammo. On GrandMaster Nightfalls, it simply kicks me out immediately by sending me to orbit. During this time, my internet connection is fine and continues running smoothly. Activities that have never given me anteater: 1. Gambit 2. Social destinations such as the Tower, Enclave, Hall of Heroes, etc. 3. World activities like patrols, public events, etc. Activities that constantly give me code anteater: 1. GrandMaster Nightfalls (Liminality) 2. ANY event using Titan. I have not tried the above activities on Titan so I can’t be sure there. 3. Ghosts of the Deep final encounter once every 10 minutes or so 4. Warlord’s Ruin final encounter every 45-70 seconds 5. Wellspring (both modes) 6. Spire of the Watcher These are all the activities I’ve performed, and it seems to either hit me nonstop, or not hit me at all. I did do some testing and found that in the middle of really bad back-to-back disconnects, if I go to Gambit, they immediately stop. They resume when I enter the above activities. My fireteam members aren’t experiencing these issues, other than my son who is on the same network as me. I’ve tried both wired and wireless, full reinstalls of the game, deleting cache, hard resetting router, removing all network traffic rules, updated firewall rules on my PC and router, and I have thoroughly reviewed my PC’s event logs for hardware failures. It’s all working fine, just not on Destiny 2. Hopefully this helps, and if you’d like me to test further, I’m happy to assist. As mentioned previously, I have years of IT experience, which includes networking, cybersecurity, etc. so I’m happy to run wireshark to examine packets or test behavior in different modes if you’d like. If not, I would just greatly appreciate a quick resolution of the issue. Seems there are others experiencing this issue and various others, so I know your team is probably really busy, but I’m happy to help however I can.

  • Hi! Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I really appreciate the time you took to test out these error codes in different activities. As you mentioned, Anteater codes are actively tracked by our team and your disconnects are automatically reported to us. I'll pass this report to my team to help them pinpoint any possible root cause. In the meantime, if it's no trouble, would you be able to tell me what brand/model is your router? Thanks a lot!
