I just tried running the Avalon mission in the Weekly Exotic Mission Rotator, on the standard (base power level 1945) and after over an hour's playing solo, I found myself just giving up at Brakion (The last boss) out of frustration.
I felt that the rewards for the time invested in the activity simply wasn't worth it. For old Season of Defiance weapons I didn't think the mission should be this "difficult" to complete, especially solo.
This mission could have done with a QOL tuning pass before adding it to the rotator in its current state. The biggest pain point for me was having to restart from the first stage of each encounter on death. Brakion has three stages and dying on the final stage, to restart from stage one is too annoying to endure, especially for Season of Defiance weapons.
Also, I thought enemy density was supposed to scale to the size of the fireteam? I managed to rack up over a thousand(?) in my attempt to complete the mission and have nothing to show for it.
Having completed the mission solo in its original incarnation back in Season of Defiance, I'm genuinely shocked and disappointed by how difficult I found the mission.

Yeah... Bungie didn't do enemy scaling for fireteam size in stuff other than Legend campaign. They also won't do any QOL changes to it. Instead they would probably make it worse at this rate along side every nerf they have done already making the game worse. Something to go with that, my attempts have just not even got past the first encounter in the Legend version except this one time during the craftening. I was able to clear it only because of that glitch and having a friend do the mechanic part while I worked on ad clear and boss dps. It was poorly balanced then and they have only been making stuff like it worse with every update they have done at this point.
