To make sure that everybody is on the same page, SRL stands for "Sparrow Racing League," and had Guardians racing each other on their Sparrows. They were quick matches, which felt unique when every other game mode in Crucible boiled-down to "kill Guardians." (I understand that that is the point of the Crucible, but I would argue that it could also be rephrased as "compete against Guardians.")
The rewards were great, as well, giving some form-fitting and sleek armor designs that cut away the bulk. They were simple, but you could still easily tell which class was which. I think that this mode could not only bring back the SRL armor sets, but also be used as an opportunity to more quickly farm for resources produced in other Crucible modes, albeit with smaller quantities and perhaps a smaller drop rate for those resources to make up for the shorter matches. It could also drop Sparrows from previous seasons or events, including - perhaps - from Destiny 1's content vault of unused Sparrows?
Just a thought, of course.
