(editing post, as I now realize the main issue).
There needs to be a universal item drop, that is abundantly stackable, and obtainable in all activities, that allows you to cash it in, in your inventory screen, for glimmer. Aka, bring back rainmakers.
Herealways pieces require specific conditions to drop, and some of these conditions are only possible if you unlock the now forgotten Europa related perks from Variks. Phantasmal and Dark fragments are also specific to only one location respectively. I can't think of anything else atm that is still able to be stacked in inventory and can be exchanged with Rahool.
Another psuedo remedy could be having a dedicated Strange coins to glimmer independent node at Xur when he's in the tower (besides occasionally getting glimmer from his 1 strange coin random engrams)
Previous body:
"First, are rainmakers no longer obtainable? I don't recall seeing / hearing about them no longer being obtainable. It would be very backwards thinking if the game now requires glimmer for most things, and the one thing that let's you get lots of glimmer on the spot can no longer drop.
Everything should be dropping glimmer and more of it to be honest. Or was glimmer purposely made to be hard to come by now so people have an incentive to do public events? If that even gives good glimmer...🤔
It's a slap in the face to go from feeling like I had so many resources stocked up so I can actually play the content of the game and try new weapons, but now I'm suddenly bottlenecked by glimmer."
-
You might recall that Rainmakers, like GlimmerShards, were initially a buff that increase the chance of extra glimmer drops on precision kills. Lasted for a limited time. When Bungie deprecated them and they stopped dropping, any remaining Rainmakers in your inventory became an "instant" glimmer source rather than a buff. I only mention this because it sounds like you want to bring back the latter "instant cash" version rather than the original.

Edited by TIME_4_A_WIN: 7/17/2024 2:22:45 PMYou can buy a glimmer shard (rainmaker) at Eververse for bright dust, this lasts for 4 hours. Levelling up the season pass or seasonal XP awards bright dust for free. Other sources from patrols, levelling up pathfinder awards glimmer to generally just playing. Dismantle old weapons rewards glimmer and materials. Opening chests in the public world. Spend an hour opening chests with the ghost mod finder so you can locate them easily to collecting additional materials it all helps. The cost of upgrading / reshaping new to existing weapons should be looked into especially for guardians whom don’t play often will struggle to shape new or existing weapons.

Edited by Halo: 7/17/2024 10:11:51 PMI think increasing the amount of glimmer that drops will help and reducing some of the cost at vendors. Introducing rainmakers back (depreciated version) will bring back the problem of players hoarding currency which is why they got rid of legendary shards if I'm not mistaken. Something simple that doesn't require players to use bright dust (not new player friendly) and farm the moon or europa. Upping the amount of glimmer in public events wouldnt hurt if they still want players to farm for glimmer
-
Please God PLEASE BUNGIE fix glimmer economy. Yes, rainmakers and the ability to not have to do 60000000 public events all the time
-
I have been surving on the 4k I have had in my vault I am down to 500 ☹️ Might be farming EDZ public events like a noob from 2017 soon
-
Personal management issue....pure & simple. I'm always at 500K just playing normally. No telling how high it woud be with no cap..... I'd probably have 1M in cap. Poor management is the only explanation for these alleged wildly differing experiences. Truth is, it doesn't matter if Bungie adjusts the economy you'll still complain. May as well Leave it as is.
-
No, they aren't obtainable anymore. Everything does drop glimmer. We literally get glimmer from everything we do in game. Yall need to stop believing that public event lie lol. We aren't bottlenecked. If you just play the content of the game like you said you did, you'll always have glimmer.

Edited by eliteg: 7/16/2024 10:31:27 PMI think your edited version is more reasonable for Bungie to consider but seems like they feel if they get the economy just right you will be more "engaged".. truth is if they get it right the "chase" for everything could become more enjoyable but its hard to reform a player-base thats so ingrained to stacking up old wealth. Its from their strategy shift to less stuff, harder stuff.. so they produce less and their profits can realign for this aging game. I think they will(should) at least start making glimmer drop more... make things cost less.. thats the primary levers... rainmakers.. even phantasmal fragments to a point could create the same problem. But that all aside - I ran into the same issue.. an hour or a few on the MOON at altars of sorrow (so you get phantasmal fragments at the same time), some bounties, glimmer shard, max ghost glim... and you will catch up (you will be right as rain[maker]:).... XUR will help when he comes along. gram per difficulty to obtain phantasmals seem way easier than herelways and those dark dreaming crystals

You just have to switch your ghost mod to supercharged glimmer and it fills up pretty quick

Edited by Guardian1309: 7/16/2024 9:27:08 PMSorry but I personally I feel glimmer economy is dang near dead last on the player issue list. Sure you can eat through it fast (says he that did it just last night cashing in a ton of IB engrams for a Crimil's Dagger godroll) But it took almost no time to earn it all back thanks to PE's and Master Rahool. Don't forget that you can also set your ghost for higher glimmer drops from PE's, chests and resource materials plus the locator for chests and resources. You can literally get a 100k and more per half hour in the EDZ, if you know where the chest and resources spawn. Just use you ghost to see if theres one there while waiting for PE's and ALWAYS push the PE's to Heroic (its a no brainer in the EDZ even if soloing them!)

You can buy glimmer from xur and exchange from rahool. I’ve never ran out of
-
Removing the cap would go a long way. But sources and drop amounts increases need to happen as well.

How are you bottle necked? You can exchange lots of resources for glimmer at Rahool. I made 200k yesterday from exchanging old resources.

Get your paper up sweetie.
