Alone this week, with the Day 1 server issues and later on a few days later with the unexpected maintenance we players of that game got both times compensation in XP boosts and such for 3 days (means 6 days in total).
Meanwhile Bungie, when they have unexpected extended maintenance doesn't even give us a single bit of bright dust.
Funny how a Japan* megacorp is in that case more consumer-friendly than a western game developer.
Bungie, you should take notes and an example from that. Giving compensation for your server issues is actually something people can and should expect from you.
* I was told it is a Korean company, which doesn't really changes the point I try to make.

The difference is that it's a brand new game and they are trying to get people to enjoy it so they will pay for the characters. Destiny is an established franchise that thinks they're bulletproof right now because they paid for a bunch of inflated reviews and puff articles. This DLC is already failing. Player engagement is really, really low for this close to release. The First Descendant will need more time to judge, but right now it's a simplistic beginning of a game because it needs money to turn into a quality franchise and they can only make money if people buy the loot.
