Trials of Osiris Reward Structure

Trials of Osiris has undergone a lot of changes since its return to us in Destiny 2. The changes have been welcome and well received, for the most part. However, I feel there needs to be an update to the reward structure of the mode. As it stands, it does not feel very rewarding nor do I feel incentivized to remain in the playlist. I won’t touch on lobby balancing which I think is an eternal struggle. Firstly, the amount of reputation earned is predicated on rounds won on your trials passage. This makes progress painstakingly slow for reseting your trials rank with Saint-14 or just even getting the available rewards. Not to mention on the early end of my card if you don’t win any rounds, then you walk away with 0 reputation earned which feels bad especially after being demolished in that previous match. Secondly, actually getting rewards from match completions. I played a number of games over roughly a two hour period and unfortunately I did not win a lot of games. However, for the games I did win, I literally only obtained one rewarded weapon. And certainly, I received no rewards for the losses I accrued. Thirdly, I am not asking for handouts, I just want my time invested to feel like I am getting something out of it. As it stands, there’s nothing keeping me in the playlist. The current structure of the Trials of Persistence passage is not enough (I also feel that needs a bit of a rework, should honestly just be seven wins and not yo-yo with losses but that’s just my hot take - I would suffer through those non-yo-yo seven wins if it meant a guaranteed adept). I know you obtain more rewards as a team, which is fine, I prefer to play solo. At this current model though, I do not feel the incentive to remain within this playlist, or even really to enter it in the first place. As for my final thoughts, I honestly would not be opposed to making Trials no longer just a weekend activity. Similar to how it was in Destiny 1 during House of Wolves, if I remember correctly, it was all week long during that summer. It could still stop during weeks of Iron Banner of course. Although it’s time to also remove light level in Trials. Once again, I know Trials has undergone a lot of changes since its inception. The changes have been good, but I don’t think the changes are enough to keep players like myself invested in this playlist at present.
