There's been mixed feedback on the weapon since it came out. A lot of people have been talking about the crazy trait/stat combos. But others have been complaining about it being a bouncy little thing when you're trying to control its recoil.
A lot of people take stats for granted. Don't. Just because it looks better on paper, doesn't mean it is better. In fact, depending on what traits and mods you run with, you could be hurting the weapon's performance instead, even if it doesn't look like it.
To the players that complain about how bouncy it is, you should experiment with it a bit more. I've found after multiple tests that trying to improve its recoil direction via barrels, stock, or Counterbalance Stock mods, was actually making my Riposte bounce more, even at 100 recoil direction. This is due to some odd behavior with it and the deterministic recoil system that was introduced. That system has its own shade thrown at it due to how little improving recoil direction matters with it. The weapon was designed with deterministic recoil and I don't think it likes having its recoil played with. Sometimes forcing a tool to do something different doesn't always work.
My suggestion is to try and keep the recoil direction on The Riposte at 66 and give it a try. Maybe even throw on Targeting Adjuster. I have that set up on my Riposte with Zen Moment and Dynamic Sway Reduction and it is the current biggest dueler of a 720 RPM auto rifle I have ever used. Even when it's getting hit hard by damage falloff, it likes to stay on target with no bounce. Any attempts I've made to change its recoil direction made it worse, so I left it like that.
And no, Zen Moment's recoil control benefits doesn't seem to be hurting the weapon at all. It's just the recoil direction stat on the weapon itself. Give it a try before you pass on it.

The gun is so clean i have to use it based on looks alone.

For a weapon like this you should be building in to handling or reload speed anyway. Range/stability is completely irrelevant
