So, for the last month of season of the Wish, Bungie had the brilliant idea of making not 1 not 2 but 3 limited timed event with unique loot attached to them.
First of all i don't have an issue with them wanting to make timed events, but with them failing to inform their players about it and you only finding out afterwards about it, then we got an issue here.
Yes, they do post on Twitter, Steam and on their own website about up coming changes and events, but, not everyone checks those and you will also have to scroll through other stuff too.
To have to leave the game, to see if there is anything new added to the game, makes no sense.
They even have a information screen popping up when you load into the game. So if we can get information about 2x nightfall rewards or 2x exp, then we sure as -blam!- should get an info tab about a limited timed event. Example. " Hey limited event up right now. This event will only be available until X, Gear up and go get your exclusive rewards." Something like that.
As i said there were 3 limited timed events. Play the new game mode on pvp on the newly added maps, Pantheon a raid boss rush mode and find exo-dog.
Ok, so first of all. The mission for crucible was easy to get, Shaxx had an icon above him, so not super hard to miss. However, Bungie the masters on information's forgot to mention that there was an emblem associated with it. I hate pvp, so when i saw that the rewards were the 3 comp weapons, that i already had, i opt to skip it. Well it turns out that you were supposed to get an emblem with it as well. My friend got it with the dlc after they had fixed that issue. So that is 1 emblem lost.
Finding the exo-dog. This one is probably the worst one. There was nothing about this even being a thing, it might have been in a twab somewhere, but nothing it the game. No icons no quest no nothing.
I only found out about it like 2 weeks afterwards, by my friend who accidentally found it. For what ever reason, to start this quest, you have to go to the Exo-dog and notice that he is not there, you also have to notice the pawprints on the ground where he used to stand. Once you have noticed it and interacted with it, that is when the quest starts and you are given a quest marker to go and talk to Ada-1.
Like what ? who would ever find it without either being extremely lucky or reading through every single twab ? I believe that there were 10 quests or so and each gave a lore piece and you were also given a shader. Now luckily you only had to complete one quest for the shader. I guess even Bungie knew that barely anyone would find out about this quest. Also it was not retroactive, so if you hade missed a quest, well you are now left with an incomplete lore book.
Lastly Pantheon. Now i will say that i saw a popup for it, but i think it only mentioned that it was there.
Could be wrong though.
This one is a strange one. It was a raid boss rush type of activity but it also were on a rotator so if you missed one, you were screwed. I had no idea that this was a limited timed event, and in all honestly why have something like this on a short timer ? This looks like something that people would have wanted, but i don't know the numbers so i could be wrong. So, what was wrong with it ? well i guess Bungie forgot or didn't care that people in clans might not get into a group to run it. I was in a clan at that point and there were 4 different group events for Pantheon and it got filled up instantly. Most clans also don't allow you to go to the lfg for activities and even if you did, you would have to find a new one for every single boss. A super tedious process. Yes i am aware that people outside of a clan would have to do it as well.
Had it not been on a timer, you could have simply waited for a group to open up and do it all over again, and if you weren't in a clan you would have had more time getting it done with randoms on the lfg.
I thought that this was just a new mode, so i thought, "eh i don't feel like doing it right now i can just do it later" well unfortunately, there was no other time.
So that is another 4 emblems lost.
So had my friend not noticed the dog, then i would have lost a shader as well.
So 5 emblems and a shader is what was tied to this event.
Now this might seem as i am whining about having missed out on these emblems and events, but it is more of me complaining about how poorly Bungie is with their information's. I am sure that i am not the only one who didn't know about these events or that they were on a timer. My other didn't know about the dog quest either so.
What they need to do is to make a new tab in the game that stores these important updates, similar to how other games has it. When there is a new twab or a new event added, have to information tab blinking to let you know that there is some new information's.
It makes no sense that we have to go to other places for information's about the game. Not everyone goes to your website to read the twabs.
Ps: towards the end of a season, the amount of players is at its lowest, so putting these timed event at the end, causes even more people to miss them.
