They aren't at every turn. There are like, six of them total and of those six only Saint and Osiris have been particularly noteworthy.
“Noteworthy?” Dude there’s an expansion named after one of the gay characters (Curse of Osiris) and the endgame PvP activity not only has a gay as the host (Saint) but also is named after the other gay character (Trials of Osiris).
They are not just noteworthy, they are forerunners in the game. Arguably more so then characters like Ikora or Eris.

He’s dead.

She and he are dead.
Crow and Amanda has a budding romance before she learned that he was Uldren. What do you mean only gay relationships exist in game
She’s dead. Do you see the pattern??? Bungie is literally KILLING hetero relationships!!!
Honey, having gay people in a fictional world is normal and doesn't denote that one cares excessively about LGBTQIA+ people any more than the next person.
Yes it absolutely does. I mean Pride Month is literally like the biggest month of the year for them, and they have a giant pride flag on display the moment you walk into their studio. They are extra and are turbo-woke, clearly not due to completely good intentions, but rather using it as a marketing ploy.
What's unrealistic about gay people existing?
Their relationship is unrealistic dummy. There’s no chemistry and it’s a very forced romance. It’s just bad writing.
