The sad part is that in D1 they were brothers if I'm not mistaken.

The Speaker sent Saint (his son of sorts) to find/eliminate Osiris. Then they fell in love. How many time have we seen that tale?

Tbf, the lore in D1 did have them call each other brother.

They were basically brothers in arms in D1 and most of D2. It’s only the last couple of years they flipped it after some comic book they made on them.
