Being so wrapped up in the lifestyle of other people is weird. Gay people exist and always have.
-
Gay people scaring you snowflakes again?

cackling in queer no.

I like pie let's redirect the conversation what kind of pie do you guys and gals like

I agree with half your post, with the saint 14 and Osiris and there being enough by my reasoning is a lot different As I want bungie to put other cannon relationship in the game into the spot light a bit more often, as we heard in season of the seraph that Anna has a girlfriend now, which I was surprised at but instantly disappointed when it was… not built up on more Or that Mara had a relationships with her first wrath, which also shocked me but understands why they can’t build into it more, kinda cause well she is dead, then the same with Amanda and crow But was happy with the the caiatl is trying to get though to Zavala in the missions, while I am happy for the two I have seen them be a majority of each expansion, since plunder, a bit in season of the witch (lore tabs) then lightfall and now that is a lot for just two characters that have screen time and be the only ones in a relationship, I want more world building and a amazing story of people that feel genuine and not just two people

« What’s love got to do with it?! »

I think we should have Sjur Eido brought back via corridors as well and let the onscreen love between her and Mara play out. At least that relationship was established welllll before the current state of displaying these things for pandering sake, and the lore behind their connection is actually a compelling story of honor and loyalty.

I thought Bungie already had DEI layoffs.

Edited by Rev: 6/26/2024 9:18:58 PMI've got nothing wrong with their relationship or how it's depicted, but it does seem like they have a need to drive the point home every time they're on-screen. It always leaves little room for other characters to interact. I understand why, but there is a point to overdo it and completely undermine the intent.
-
So true. But I have tried telling bungie we don’t all life west cost and for the ppl in other continents it’s just pushing a narrative that drives me always from the game

bung is pretty geh. Of course there’s gonna be geh stuff in the game.

Never supported it, but neither am I annoyed by it. But I can understand your frustration.

In context, there's very little romance in Destiny.....but this is really being played up, so I took it as a statement about Trials that might bother some folks. Ask the question - why now? Again, in context over Destiny's history.
-
Doesn't bother me because it's just a story. And I have no problem with anyone who has gay relationships, more power to them and hope they're happy. They're not hurting anyone no matter how much these maniacally deranged pastors and fake Christians try to demonize them.

Say your -blam!- without saying your -blam!- (triumph completed)

hey man you get a 10 second dialogue/cutscene a year and you flippin out?
-
Edited by Azura, Pronouns Haver: 6/26/2024 5:59:03 PMWell womp womp. It’s not Saint and Osiris’s fault that cis-het ppl don’t have a -blam!- clue on how to write a decent queer relationship and weave it into a story properly.

Edited by I Am Sonic Rose: 6/26/2024 4:59:04 PMI wouldn’t have an issue with it normally but their characters together just seem, not sure how to describe it other than, off. Like the chemistry for a relationship that’s as deep as the game wants to imply just isn’t there other than the occasional drawing in a cutscene of them holding hands or kissing which seems disconnected from the actual game cause we basically never see anything between them in reality through our eyes. On top of that it was a slight retcon that had zero build up or backstory made for it. Like I understand a small niche group of people want to feel represented but if you’re gonna do it at least give them something compelling and real instead just “okay fine here you go! *plop, they’re gay lovers now here’s some randomly thrown in drawings in cutscenes and one line per season to prove it*” If you ask me it seems kinda rude and dismissive to those people. Imagine instead we got a cutscene, or even dialogue referring back to Season of Dawn when we saved Saint-14 where Osiris reluctantly and kinda awkwardly opens up and lets his deeper emotions out thanking our Guardian deeply for everything we did that season to help him and eventually save Saint that slowly leads to him opening up and revealing his love for him. We would get to see a character that has really been mainly shown to be a reserved but wise man, always concerned about his studies or the greater threat over himself and his deeper feelings suddenly open up and reveal this whole other stowed away side of his character and that ability to open up finally being part of his growth as a person he goes through after losing his light and ghost. Then we could have a flashback of him and Saint-14 reuniting after we save Saint and they have some time together again after many many years showing their relationship and making it more believable. All of that leading into the conflict they face now as Saint gets his mind tugged around by “The Conductor” this season. Doesn’t that sound way more interesting and less forced?

I don't even watch the cut scenes. The whole story is laughable but I do enjoy the game.

My take: It's not really just a love story. If two characters who care about and love each other happen to be fighting a conflict, emotions and personal attachment will come out. Osiris was a Guardian that shut everyone out and hid his feelings because he didn't want to get attached to someone he could lose while so many world ending threats were around. Well that happened anyway. So he gets Saint back and then loses his light and ends up possessed. After all that he is no longer immortal and will die of age one day so he isn't hiding his feelings anymore. Now Saint questions his own existence and if he's worthy of being cared about. This is caused by a new enemy, the Conductor, using mental warfare against someone who was the bane of the Vex. Osiris doesn't want to lose Saint to the Vex again, and now these mf's are breaking Saint down mentally making him question if he's actually the one Osiris cares about. This is why there is a relationship dynamic. There is a degree of nuance there but if you're narrowminded you will miss it. We've had a season about Crow and Holidays relationship. We had one about Zavala and his wife. There's nothing wrong with a story with Osiris and Saints relationship as ONE component to it. These two have never really taken center stage but Its still about the Vex and mystery of the Conductor.

I agree, all this Osiris/Saint love story stuff isn't leaving room for the love story we all really want - Zavala and Caiatl.
