Beyond ridiculous how badly everything is overtuned. Show how little devs play

Everything and i mean everything is damn near setup to one shot. Add in the design of never-ending fire from gun turrets, over tuned and bs splash damage and you have just down right frustration and ZERO fun. I am not speaking about higher level content; the damn base level echoes event is one shotting. You have no idea wtf you are doing. Just turn a dial and say "that will be cool" yet without playing the damn game, suffering through the triumphs YOU setup, you have absolutely ZERO idea. This is and has always been the disconnect with this damned company. Devs play testing for 10 minutes saying its cool and never touching the game again. Overload with Joe is the absolute best example. The game director could not even stop a simple overload well before this over tuned trash came out. Overload handcannon??? Are you fing kidding me? The worst champ type in the entire game with the least reliable method to stop and hes already 2 shotting at best. Hydra splash damage? WTF idiot thought a 20m splash damage radius was cool on a never-ending fire enemy? Absolutely bs and clearly shows there is no understanding of this game and its players. Only shining light now is the saga is done and over and now more and more will walk away hopefully leading to all your jobs being lost. Difficult content should be left for difficult selection, not cookie cutter to everything. Lost sector on legend is absolutely undoable. But lets throw in the usual "after your power increases" catch all say all phrase. Well bro I want to play now, not in 4 months and picking base level difficulty should not come with the caveat of "now you will just be 2 shot instead of 1 shot by everything" Absolutely no understanding of fun vs. difficulty vs. replayability.

    It's okay the devs will feel the pain when nobody is playing anymore after Shadow of the Erdtree releases. Maybe they'll listen to reason then, but then again its Bungie. LMK when actual devs take control of the helm, until then im hanging up my hunter cape. I can't even play anymore, I've gotten nothing done today, wanted to get the cooperative focus missions done finally for that exotic, nope, nothing but rude players who think they're better than everyone that plays this game. I'm tired of it.

  • bungie is blinded by players who have spent 5 plus years grinding destiny . there listening to the wrong players ,of course those that sit around all day and play games are going to find the game easy or they get bored. those players are no better then a greenhorn , they only have more chair time . if bungie really wanted to have destiny thrive then it wouldnt be overturning everything to please the few. but would make the game more accessible to the masses .

    • I had to laugh when seeing the 10 extra Light Level on the showcase stream, and watching the gameplay movement shown in the preview of the Dread with looked like the highest drag on a controller stick. There are multiple levels of experience and many different opinions of what is fun, which is why you should be able to control your own difficulty. I was too new to make proper use of it, but I recall there was a Nightfall modifier card that would allow you to choose your difficulty and therefore the chances of loot drop, but I may be misremembering. However, if they could do that for Nightfalls they could certainly do it for other endgame activities.

    • Sounds like a skill issue. The seasonal activity in expert is mind numbing at most. The enemy waves are tiny and predictable, the Hydra bosses die in 1 nighthawk still hunt shot, I can literally turn my brain off and punch + dodge through the entire thing without issue smh Then again, you're playing void titan with graviton instead of banner of war or prismatic.

      • I just played Expert Breach and I just have no clue how I am supposed to not get near or one shot by everything. I need all of the damage resist types on at once, but you can't do that. When you have no choice, this is why people resort to reserve mods and cheesy ways to outlast the enemies. Piling 4000 rounds of primary ammo into a Tormenter boss is just not my idea of fun. And the other activity is literally all challenge with no fun, I am not planning on hitting pinnacle cap this season, maybe next one.

          I walked through a Master lost sector at 1964 light using very basic gear due to how absurdly strong builds in this game can be. I have no idea what you mean.

          I haven’t had a chance to play high level content, was running after Kobostov AR. That mission, idk what they were thinking while making this mission. I am pretty much sure they were trying to punish players. You see we use this forum to vent our displeasure and definitely Bungie devs read this so they got pissed off and made that exotic mission. Now I don’t plan to try the dual destiny mission lol. Pale heart destination makes me nauseous. This single exotic mission almost took my weekend thursday and Friday n8. Will play the seasonal content this week, next week gm and harder content. Will try the raid after 2-3 months 🤣 Edit: lol just unlocked the dual destiny🤣 killed the secret bosses before while grinding for the AR, saw the green light went there got the orbs. Probably gonna try the dual destiny today 🤪

          • Just noticed this, moon battleground base strike, 1 spear used to kill the witches that block progress. Now it takes 3 spears to kill 1 wizard, it's really really bad, it's hard to even stay alive sometimes in base strikes FFS, it's actually faster to run the nightfall

              • Im really trying to enjoy The Final Shape but it just feels like the game is really distancing away from Solo players. Like, everything requires a group and Discord. Dont get me wrong i love group activities but not because things are incredibly difficult and puzzling. Some activities shouldnt even probably be in the Fireteam Finder because you literally need to talk to people such as the new Co-op Focus mode which is a disaster. Then the other thing that really bothers me is having to go on Youtube for pretty much everything these days to figure out how to do anything. Im tabbing in and out of this game more than any game ive ever played in my life.

                • This game is weird when it comes to that. One moment you’re annihilating everything in your path and feeling super powerful. The next you’re tickling everything with your weapons and getting 1 shot by everything. The difficultly should be more subtle imo.

Most of these streamers aren't people who care about the community but it is funny how they have many followers fooled into believing they do to make a profit. Just like this developer that only shows they "care" when they need to sell DLC and then they disappear until they need to sell more. Just because this developer hired people who can code it doesn't mean they are the right people for the job. This also applies to a director, and Luke Smith is a prime example of why as a developer you never put people without experience in a position they don't belong. It's also messed up that the streamers are working with this company to work against the community instead of working with the community. I have never seen the streamers work together to support the community, ever. That's how bad things are. There is always some lame catch to their ideas and content that they add to the game, and these streamers just make matters worse.                   Just don't play let the top 10% see how long they can keep the servers open for without everyone else . Don't watch d2 streamers vids too because then they will kick off because there income is affected an bungie may be forced to listen to reason since games just not fun its tedious mind numbing bs for anything endgame just camp at the back prey you don't die ,d2s gameplays is dead and so is the power fantasy

                • Compare these devs and their extremely poor balancing and ideas of "difficulty" versus DE and Warframe. They have Pablo who is apart of the best reworks ever to be made in the game along with making some amazing frames along side it (yes Pablo made Yareli and she was kind of trash early on but they fixed that). Along with that, Warframe has Steel Path with enemies having super high levels of armor to near 99.9% damage reduction and such high damage that you could get one-shot, yet their mod system gives much better buildcrafting to the point where you can too one-shot enemies even in that same difficulty. On top of that factor, Steel Path is ACTUALLY FUN!!! I enjoy being able to basically build tank with a frame like Styanax and letting my weapons be the focus for my damage outside his 4th ability with the augment compared to previously seeing players get one-shot in old Well even before they added -5 power to dungeons. I have personally been on the recieving end of being one-shot in old Well by the first boss of Ghost killing me and my teammates with a single shield toss while I had max resilience. Bungie has overall just lost their minds on what difficulty is suppose to actually be. Back in D1, we even had Wretched Eye being a nightmare on Nightfall and we not only had the one difficulty for Nightfall, but we didn't even have power cap to it and yet it can be a much more enjoyable experience than anything Bungie has made in recent years with these delusions of balance.

                  I have felt for years that they don’t play their game much at all. Particularly to make it fun. It seems more about making it hard or challenging, which is really a lost cause. The better players will still manage to beat any challenge, because they have great gear, excellent builds, the drive to do what it takes to beat anything in the game, and…are simply much better at playing the game. ‘Skill issue?’ Absolutely! There most certainly is a skill issue in this game and it gets wider each year. Fun is not really a priority.

                  Let’s be honest, this is the best expansion… no best thing period Bungie has put out in ten years. Just play on normal mode of its too hard for you, the majority of us that are just playing and not bothering to comment on these forums are having a really good time. The reviews literally speak for themselves being the highest rated thing Bungie has done since Halo.

                  • I soloed the campaign on legendary and did not enjoy the experience. Didn't have any friends help at all, I'm good enough to beat the content. That being said, I didn't enjoy the cheap one shot deaths from every direction. here's a thousand ways for you to get insta-killed, just egregiously lazy game design and took all the fun out of it. We're supposed to be powerful guardians. It doesn't even feel like we're glass cannons where we take alot of damage but can give alot back. The guns feel badly balanced, if you don't use a small subsection of the guns that do work well, you will not do enough damage, which takes away alot of choice and that takes the fun out of it. What's the point of so many these guns taking up space in the game, 90% of them suck -blam!-.

                      • Rather than they don't play their game enough, I think they play their game too much. They're pretty much balancing everything around a player that has 100 resilience, access to resist mods, and access to sustain in subclasses. Many if not most players do not make use of these either because they can't or they lack the knowledge to, which I believe they should balance lower level activities around.

                        • There are a lot of 1 and 2 shots in the legendary campaign, it was a pretty frustrating experience with all the splash damage and now they've added stasis and strand damage sources to a lot more enemies so good luck using sufficient damage resist mods. Concussive dampener is pretty much required for everything at this point. Witch Queen's legendary campaign felt way better tuned than this. Bungie wants to double down on everyone being glass cannons I guess.

                          • Intuitive gameplay is practically impossible because some game designs have no room for mistakes. Especially the campaign on Legendary, solo, can be unforgiving.
