I've been using the name "Rhulk's Thigh Highs" for 2 years and suddenly i log in and get prompted with the image. Crossplay has been active for years so why did I get hit with this out of nowhere? Is my old name offensive out of nowhere? And why did it keep saying i had no name changes but it immediately took the name for one of the auto selections while taking the free name change?

Hey there, the crossplay message is misleading, what happened is that your name got reported, reviewed by Bungie and deemed to be against code of conduct, and then reset to a Guardian default. A bad name is only 'good' for as long as it takes it to be reported, so length of time is not important. Were you able to type in a new name? That means you did have a name change available. If you were typing a name in, and it was not being accepted, that meant the new name was being rejected by the filter.

Hello there, If your Bungie Name has been changed to "Guardian####", that indicates that some part of the name broke the Code of Conduct or the Bungie Name Policy, was filtered, and [b]can no longer be used. Bungie is constantly evolving their detection systems and names can be reported by other players for review. Whether it was via the filter or via report, the name was found to be not in alignment with Bungie's name policy or code of conduct so it was subjected to moderation.
