Bungie, how come there is no Iron Lady title?
Topic title, I have been wondering about why we don't have the option to choose between Iron Lord or Lady given that there were ladies too. I am just saying that for a company that takes pride in being diverse you sure excluded the female demographic.
All I am asking if it would be possible to add Iron Lady to the game. My male Exo Titan is currently wearing the Iron Lord title but I would love the option for my Warlock and Hunter to be Iron Ladiies.
Before people post, yes there totally were Iron Ladies and they were:
Efrideet
Jolder
Skorri
Perun
Gunnora
Crimil
Frostmire
Edit: Having read through the replies it really doesn't come as surprise to see so many guys get upset over a question that was aimed toward the studio, but yes I do realise that Bungie doesn't actually look over the forums given the nature of alot of threads here, who in their right mind would want to go through all the threads when there is such a negative vibe? I do believe there is a reason why Bungie takes the feedback of streamers more seriously because they draw in new players to the game than random people from the forums, if new players saw the toxic nature of the playerbase they would turn away and find another game to play.
In conclusion it's a shame to see how some people act, you think my request for Iron Lady is bad? Look at the character creation screen, there isn't even a male or female option. Bungie replaced it, now instead for male or female it says Body Type 1 and 2. We live in an age where men and women don't even exist.
I suppose it would make more sense to change the title from Iron Lord to Young Wolf because that was the title we were given in at the end in Rise of Iron but I do believe that Bungie has written off that expansion given that we still haven't seen SIVA return aside from Outbreak Perfected and before the Zero Hour mission, SIVA was one thing we were going to see at one point in Nessus but they scrapped it for some reason.

1 ReplyBecause in the lore there isn’t such a thing as iron Ladies. Even though female iron lords exist they’re just part of the iron lords. Iron Lord is simply a title held by guardians.

I use to think about this as well, if you choose a female character some of the Titles would change (Iron Lord/Iron Lady) but that’s because I was thinking of it in a royalty aspect when in reality it’s more of a military title. For instance, if you were in the army you wouldn’t be “Lady” General, you would just be a General, hence Iron Lord.

1 ReplySo here's the deal with languages. Lots of them have masculine and feminine versions of things like pronouns and titles, because that's just how the language works. For example, Spanish has two ways to say "the" and you pick between them based on whether the subject of the "the" is a masculine or feminine word: "el" for masculine, "la" for feminine. This "Lord/Lady" distinction works along similar lines. "Lord" is the title for a male, or masculine, individual. "Lady" is the title for a female, or feminine, individual. That's just how the language works. Now, some languages have a third option: neuter. It's been a VERY long time since I studied any German, but IIRC that's the primary example of this. Some German words are neither masculine nor feminine, and they get their own special version of "the" and all the other associated pronouns and whatnot that are all distinct from the masculine and feminine versions. English doesn't do that though. English doesn't have a distinct, unique identifier for neutral titles or entities. Using "they/them" pronouns isn't distinct or unique to non-binary individuals. You're just borrowing plural pronouns, because that's just how English works. It frequently prefers to borrow terms from other languages and other situations instead of making its own. It's the same sort of reason why "you guys" gets used to refer to gender-integrated groups of people and hardly anyone uses "you gals" unironically. English doesn't have a gender-neutral version of guys/gals. "You people" frequently comes off as rude, so people tend not to use it in polite conversation. So at some point, someone decided to just borrow the masculine "guys" and use that in gender-neutral or gender-integrated contexts. In the same manner, "Iron Lord" can be properly used as a gender-neutral title that refers to both male and female members of the organization. That being said, even Nintendo gives its players both masculine and feminine options for a particular title whenever one is unlocked in Splatoon 3. I personally don't see any downside to adding "Iron Lady" to Destiny 2 as an alternative title that unlocks at the same time as "Iron Lord" and shares its gild count.

1 ReplyBecause you are thinking of the royalty Lord/Lady, Iron Lord was adapted from Warlords, there were not Warladies. Even feminine warlords are still a warlord.
