From browsing the forums since pantheon launched, there seems to be a lot of so called “solo” players that appear to be solo due to bad raiding experiences. It’s made me think of how raids can be more accessible to new raiders.
I was a huge fan of guided games back in the day, but they weren’t highlighted very much. I think something like guided games NEEDS to come back or Bungie will miss out on many new raiders and continue to build a divide. Could even just bring guided games back imo.
Pros to guided games:
- new raiders have a way to matchmake with teams willing to teach
- the groups formed are BUILT to be taught
- my success rate from previous GGs was near 100% (due to the pickup needing to leave)
Cons:
- no mic, no chat players ruin the experience (one should be required)
- wait time for a match could take a LONG time. Showing a wait queue for both seeker and guide queues would be helpful
This would potentially resolve the “raiding is gatekeeping” or “I’m solo and hate raids” mentality. I love teaching raids but sometimes it’s hard to find people wanting/needing to learn. I miss guided games very much for this case.

What about a section of the 'FTF' specifically for teaching, titled as such; is there something like that already?
