Voted fine where it's at. Matchmaking for higher content would be a waste of resources. Say that because it would be a disaster. The majority wouldn't be able to finish the activities for various reasons (people with no mics, people joining without champ mods, wiping cause people leaving, etc). Next, the game is multi-player. Yes, there are plenty of things you can do solo, but that doesn't mean it needs solo options for every activity. That defeats the purpose of what the game is. It's just like every single player game doesn't need mp.

  • I agree on the matchmaking thing but I have done raids and dungeons without mics. We did use text chat though. More so, it would be nice to just have more options for solo but only for those who want to choose. Opt-in would be on by default and you would have to go out of your way to choose solo. I recently been thinking that we should at least be able to solo strikes that are just on the locations themselves, that way vanguard-ops isn't filled with a bunch of solos. (sometimes I play helldivers solo and its nice on easy missions for testing things but challenging on harder difficulties but is the main reason lately why I think more solo options would be nice in Destiny 2's easier content). Also agree about the single player thing. It is a weird comparison but back when I played genshin, I liked that it was entirely opt-in or out co-op but that is a different game entirely.

  • That's still some type of communication, which most matchmaking isn't going to have. Just look at matchmaking activities in game now. Very few communicate. It might be nice, but in the end it would be a waste of resources. Very few would use the option to play solo. And for those that do, they'd probably just do it to finish bounties faster lol. When creating those games, the devs had a different mindset than bungie for destiny. Bungie wants us to play together/with others. That's been the whole goal from the beginning. Solo play was optional. Games like you mentioned, that wasn't the case.

  • True. Of course the biggest one that communication is highly needed is The Corrupted strike and that one Blind Well tier 4 boss about passing balls. I have many moments where I toss it to someone, they look at me and then throw it at a crowd of normal adds or into the ground, instead of at the shielded enemies. The only reason I say it wouldn't really effect resources at all, is because some things that are matchmade only, also have non-matchmade options, like higher tier nightfalls and the coil. It would actually be nice if they could maybe even improve strikes by making them more add dense(and maybe a little stronger) when with a full team to make it easier for bounties and challenges to be completed (this would probably be more resource intensive though). The thing about helldivers was actually just made tougher for solo players by adding more random patrol spawns, so you will have to move more often, while a full team will have to deal with less random patrol spawns.

  • Lack of communication is one of the reasons why I'm saying it won't work on higher end game content. Putting something in game very few will use is a waste of resources. Not only that, it would be splitting up the player pool even more. They just fixed a bug in helldivers. Instead of getting 1/4th of the possible patrols for a solo player, they were getting 1/6th of possible patrols. So the fix makes sense. It might make it a lil tougher, but not by much.
