Bungie doesn't just use your current location, they'll factor in a range of things, possibly such as: - Number of accounts that have signed into the device and whether those accounts are distanced from it, ie if one device has a range of accounts signing in that has most of their history hundreds/thousands of miles away then thats likely a device being used for recoveries and the accounts are being recovered. - The device types and their locations, ie if you're going from an Xbox in USA to a PC in the UK in the space of 30 mins its being shared/recovered. - The activity types being done, ie if you try trials on an Xbox but don't go flawless for example then suddenly you're on a PC 3000 miles away and do a first try flawless. Thats basically guaranteed to be a recovery You'll be fine since its not just a 'was here one day, popped up here another a few days later'

  • Thank you for your respond! Is that confirmed or is it just speculations? So for my case, my account is gonna be on another decive in another country but not on my regular set up for a few days. So this will not trigger anything on my account?

Unfortunately, its mostly speculative on my part but I've been in the same situation a couple of times and its been fine. Bungie doesn't get into the finer details of how they handle things like this since it gives people a route to work around them There are players that used to play while trucking around a country so their location would be consistently changing locations, using different networks, and in some cases devices when they're at home vs on the road

  • It is confirmed that Bungie uses more than just an ip address to verify if an account recovery is taking place.
