Bungie doesn’t seem to like crafting all that much from the looks of it. Also, the tryhards will cry about it and we can’t have that.

  • Bungie will have use craft all exotic weapons. Its just started! Talk about repurposing the game and grind.

  • Nah. I'm a try hard and would love to have crafting be the main focus. I'd rather grind for something I want and know how much work it takes to get it rather than relying on RNG. I was talking to someone about FFXIV a while back and they clearly don't play. The stuff you want always has some sort of way to get it though direct means. Even best in slot items. They might be time consuming sometimes but at least my time is respected..

  • I would like crafting to be the norm as a pve try hard. Even if they made the red border chase crazy. I'd prefer that over straight rng onslaught has.

  • It would mean going full Warframe

  • Please, going full warframe would mean making fun content with lots of replayability unrestricted power ceilings and modding, massive customization, pets, decoration, clan dojos, space combat, space combat in space ships, actual melee combat, mech suits, jet packs, horses, nemesis systems, pets, build-a-gun/melee, and yearly conventions all for free (outside of the conventions). I'd like to see Bungie try to give Destiny all that its senior game has.

You make it sound better than it is, all there is to do is level gear , you think grinding power level in Destiny is a chore, try grinding affinity on the same level 30 defense mission to level and relevel your frames, your frames abilities, your weapons , your sentinel/kavat or Kubrow , And you have to endlessly grind tedios missions to get the chance to pray to RNG so it can flip a coun and draw straws to see how long your grind is going to last Plus it's just killing the same adds over and over and over and over and over and over and over , to get better at killing adds over and and over... you get the point , it's isn't called warfarm for nothing, why are we killing these Corpus,Grineer, or Corrupted(which is Warframes version of Taken) we are rarely told , most casuals who couldn't be bothered to grind 10 pinnacle levels every 3 months in D2, are going to immediately nope out of the grind that awaits them in Warframe And in warframe you can just pay real money to skip the grind all together, which we all know atleasst hald of Destiny players would do , you could farm the raid for the exotic, or just buy it from Xur for 4000 silver

Everything is endlessly grinding (shiny weapon anyone?)
Plus it's just killing the same adds over and over and over and over and over and over and over , to get better at killing adds over and and over...
And destiny isn't?
why are we killing these Corpus,Grineer, or Corrupted(which is Warframes version of Taken) we are rarely told
Why are we killing those cabals, fallen, hive or taken? You kill grineer and corpus to keep the balance and colonies from getting screwed by them
And in warframe you can just pay real money to skip the grind all together,
Show me that you can straight up go to Deep Archimedea just by buying unranked warframes and weapons

When did I make it sound better than it is? I listed things that exist in warframe and don't in destiny 2 and didn't bring the game up first. Power level grind ain't jack, it's playing enough of whatever you want until you hit a cap then doing what ever activities you want that will give you gear with a higher number to turn into fodder. In warframe you didn't note that you can level all those things at the same time and endless relic missions are better as they boost affinity gains after a set amount of rotations. Both games are tedious it is a matter of picking ones poison, same with killing the same enemies over and over to get better at killing those same enemies with the only difference is that with warframe the scenery can change a smidge each time you run a mission. Casual play to have a casual time the difference between warframe and destiny is that in warframe your progress won't reset if you don't play so a player can take breaks without missing out. How loose a player wants to be with their wallet is their choice be it skipping 3 day long wait times in warframe or skipping story content in destiny 2. Warframe however let's free to play players earn currency through trade to buy cosmetics or skip wait times while destiny doesn't. Bungie could do a lot to make destiny a better game than it is, but to me they often don't and can take a long time to get around to fixing problems. Digital Extremes has been willing to do crazy things for their game and it shows in how the game has stayed stable these past years. Both games have potential though whether the companies behind them brings out that potential is the opinion of the players of which I am only one.

  • Not the Tryhards, rather the players who understand game design. I wouldn’t consider myself a tryhard. I haven’t even soloed a dungeon, yet I dislike crafting because it has ruined the loot grind.

  • Have you really though? Like unless you just are a defeatist and give up easily I can guarantee you play more when you have to grind

Yes, I have. My most played year of this game is the WQ year, largely because of crafting. Edit: This year may possibly have seen more time from me but only because of how long it is and the addition of Into the Light. That’s simply untrue for me and many others. Am I supposed to get the roll just to have it and then just stop playing? I really don’t understand the logic with the “people stop playing when they get what they want” crowd. Like do you actually enjoy the game for the actual combat or do you just collect things for the sake of it? If you just like to gamble you can do that instead, and you might make some money. When I get the roll I want….I use it. I play the game WITH it and try it out in various builds and activities of varying difficulties.

  • I wish I could thumb the part you we're talking about the "crowd that grinds gets what they want and then stop playing" For me, it's true as well. I get to not only enjoy the game slightly more, but actually USE the damn thing I grinded for, haha Anyways 👍

  • When the loot is copy-paste? It would be different if weapons have some identity, this loot model feels like it's just pointless padding with how many weapons can be condensed into one

  • Crafting made the loot grind better for those of us who want to enjoy the space magic awesomeness this game offers. I am a tryhard, and I support crafting.

  • How does crafting encourage Space Magic Awesomeness. The loot grind encourages you to go back to each and every activity you want loot from to continue to farm for the perfect God Roll 5/5s are not needed for the majority of loot, so you would only be actively farming for a 2/5 Godroll most of the time. Most of the time, you can just passively farm for the 5/5. Crafting on the other hand either requires you to use a specific weapon for a long period of time, or get to a point in the game where you can just buy the stuff. Either way, it ruins how the game plays because if your an endgame player, there is no feeling of reward when you get the crafted Godroll, and if your a new player, the grind is much more boring that if you were to hunt for the weapon you want. It also did not solve the issue of Encounter Farming, and if anything, intensified it. Crafting has actively made the game more dull.

  • Highly disagree more than I ever could I can get the crafted weapons and go back to solo and Lowman content instead of forcing me to play 4k plus waves of onslaught just to get a 4/5 roll. No thank you give me crafting all day instead of forcing me into content I do not enjoy.

  • By technicality, no one is forcing you to play content you don’t want to. I would be a hypocrite to say that though, as I interact with the Crafting system, despite my disdain for it. You do bring up a rather interesting point though. If we were to remove the Enhanced perks from Apex Predator, what benefit does it have over Cold Comfort? Both are great for damage and DPS, despite the differences in how they function, play, and interact with the game. No body would bat an eye if you brought a Cold Comfort to the DPS phase unless you are min maxing out wazoo and Apex provides something more than Cold Comfort. Why I bring this up is simple. Bungie creates weapons and loot tables that give you alternatives and different pathways to weapons of similar power. Crafting, and enhanced perks especially, have ruined this, as now people are going to go for the shorter grind, which can offer you the better perks (Enhanced). Crafting does not just ruin the grind for the activity the weapon comes from. It also ruins the grind for other activities too. There will always be the most meta, and the best in slot, but Crafting has amplified this problem, as all the crafting weapons are the best in slot unless the weapon type does not have a crafted counterpart as of yet. Enhanced perks in general are a problem, because it’s going to make Midnight Coup the undisputed best in slot, while Fatebringer, a weapon that could rival it, even if only slightly outclassed, is pointless. As for playing the activities you like and don’t like. I understand that everyone has the preferences. I’m not the biggest fan of PvP, nor the destination activities, but I’ll venture into those activities, whether it be for a weapon, or just to do something. Maybe that’s a me thing.

  • No I venture into things to get items i want also not just a you thing. And as far as min maxing I need to do those things in order to do lowman content like we did trio flawless master vog a week or two back and damage has to be min maxed on Templar. Thats the type of content I enjoy and solo flawless dungeons and such. Crafting has made these things more enjoyable because I can spend more time in those types of activities.
