Yeah that's totally a completely fair and accurate assessment of what happened that definitely doesn't grossly misrepresent the situation by leaving out a massive detail or anything like that, so nice to see someone not relying on disingenuous argument tactics to push their own agenda. 👍

You missed the part where they said they'll never remove the power limit so people delete those sunset weapons

And they werent forced to delete these weapons As they were possible to use in many many activities From raids to dungeons, patrols, missions, quests, pvp etc..

Different people made those decisions. The team responsible for sunsetting in the first place made that decision, and the current team, for the sake of regaining the playerbase, is basically in a situation where the only thing that makes sense is to do what they've done. All those guns that got deleted are an unfortunate casualty of the difference between the old vision and the current one.

Start by having passion and ambition beyond reskins and reissues

Its easy for players like us to say that given how ingrained we are in this game and its community, but we are not the average player. So many people who quit after beyond light and never came back, or otherwise tried the game out again after beyond light and never came back because of sunsetting. Bungie actually has a chance of getting those players back now. And they need them.

I didn’t miss anything. There is next to zero benefit apart from nostalgia to use current sunset weapons over what we have in the current sandbox.

I never asked them to sunset any gear in the first place. I think their are way too many weapons to begin with. Should have never released half these guns. Most are exactly the same as others just a different paint job, new name, and one different perk.

It was still a wanted change. I got flamed for saying that. That's how attached people were to the idea of getting their stuff back. For four years. Am I upset that it happened after I deleted most of my stuff? Yeah, and we have a right to be. It doesn't stop this from being an objectively good thing for the state of the game. How many people full on quit after sunsetting and never came back? Now they have a reason to. All their gear is usable again. Whether or not we like it more people playing the game is a good thing for all of us who still enjoy it.

I agree, its a good change. But still it just irks me when people like Reprimer make these kinds of disingenuous arguments, like people are just complaining for no reason. There is a reason that a lot of people are upset about this, and that reason is that we were told for almost 4 years "Delete these, they will not be unsunset." Especially because the given reason for not being able to reverse sunsetting was that it would be unfair for the people who had already deleted their things, and that number of people has only increased over the years. It also is starting to look more and more like the old "They'll remove content and resell it back to you" people aren't so crazy after all, although hopefully all the reintroduced weapons are F2P and not horrible to grind. So yeah, good change. But we shouldnt pretend that people are upset over nothing.

Apart from nostalgic purposes, what point do 99% of those weapons even have over current sandbox iterations. No way someone is upset about their forsaken era perk pooled weapons being gone. If you haven’t been able to find a replacement for the majority of these idk what to tell ya.

What gun replaces Kindled Orchid? Legitimately curious as to what is even remotely close to that gun and is void.
