It's still really good as a special weapon, it's worse than it was only because splash damage is weak. But at least it now has perks like auto loading and impulse amplifier

So when you shot a guy in crucible with MountainTop he has that life left remember that if you were to have MountainTop 5 months ago he would be dead. The extra 30hp in pvp made everything different

  • They literally changed how this gun works, they butchered splash radius. Bungie gave it this damage for checkmate for a reason, even if we didn't had a checkmate it still wouldn't be a one shot, since it deals around 150 damage and 10 resil was 200 hp

    I only care about the direct impact damage it awful across the board even in pvp they stated they didn’t want it to one shot but making it 3 to the body with spike is criminal and it drastically hampered my want to play the game here’s hoping they don’t disembowel magnificent howl perk 🥲

They made crucible into checkmate and they lowered body shot dmg but increased all headshot dmg as well bonus 30hp in health. Too bad the MountainTop can't do critical precision dmg like explosive payload if you hit someone in the head with the rocket

    It shouldn't be good in pvp, good decision by Bungie. And magnificent howl is awful, it's not going to be the same perk, try older version and you will see

    The PVP PINNACLE weapon can’t even 2 shot with spike is a horrible decision all you had to do was jump and the person with MT couldn’t shoot you the way it got brought back basically makes it a wasted weapon slot should have just brought back a different weapon at that point like revoker or not forgotten, hush, oxygen, claymore, broad sword, so many better option then to give us a weapon that’s useless every where out side of movement tech

The pvp of today is checkmate. Abilities do less, Abilities take longer, punishing if you can't hit the head shot. You also a year ago guardian in pvp had 180 hp. We have 220 today. The pvp is a different game today

  • Old mountain top was so easy to use, this one isn't that, because low splash radius and damage. And it can 2 shot an opponent, it deals around 150 damage direct hit, how that isn't a 2 shot?

    It only 2 shots if the opponent has less then 50 resilience if your using it with spike nades (But nobody is running less then 50 I’ve seen so far) And the biggest problem was just the blast radius people didn’t like that it did 180 if you shot it on the ground in between there legs(if was any further away it only did 80 it’s damage drop off for blast radius was extreme) They need to give it back it’s one shot in crucible it was the easiest thing to counter all you had to do was just move stop holding a corner with a shot gun or out distance between you and them and boom nothing they could do

  • It wasn't the easiest thing to counter, if you are good at the game you can hit a target, who is in the air, it wasn't as big of a problem back then since other special weapons were much stronger. A lot pf people refused to use it all of the time since it was the most toxic weapon to play against. And it deals more than 290 damage in 2 hits, 100 resilience is 230 hp, it's literally a guaranteed 2 shot.

  • They should have given Mico missile the ability to do critical dmg especially in this new sandbox. Any kind blast radius dmg is not good for this crucible. Body shot/blast body dmg was lowered but headshot was increased. Since MountainTop has micromissle it shot straight give it the ability to do headshot like explosive payload. So you get 2 numbers if normal MountainTop does 180 take that split it 90 as just the blast dmg and multiple the other 90dmg with precision multiplier. It would 1 shot headshot in this crucible
