This is according to their new patch notes: "Adjusted reward drops to ensure a guaranteed weapon drop within a 50-wave run and an additional bonus weapon drop upon completion of wave 50 in any difficulty."

Then what am I missing? It says to ensure a guaranteed drop during the 50 Wave, and one bonus drop at Wave 50. I understand that I didn't get the 50 one, but I should have gotten at least one golden weapon by 40.

Bonus weapon isn’t a reference to a shiny drops. It means an additional drop of a brave weapon. All drops from all sources have a small % to drop as shiny

That's not my focus. Mine is on the initial guaranteed golden drop. I was supposed to get one guaranteed drop, as a golden weapon, but all I got were regular weapons. That was through 40 Waves.

The guaranteed gold weapon is from the quest from the vendor next to Shaxx

Yes, those are weapon drops, not shiny drops. Each weapon drop has a chance to drop as a shiny.
