I think its more experiments. It could be a simulation but i don’t think so. I think the golden age created a “god” from technology. The winnower was a balance but i it failed and was destroyed. This could have been done by corruption of ideals or a 3rd party like Clovis. After all Clovis was responsible for so much in this universe. I have no proof but I’m starting to think the gardener could have been created Willa Bray. Meaning the winnower would be a cloned or altered sibling. That is if the gardener existed prior.
