Hive Biology is different from Human Biology. The best comparison we have for the Hive to a real world animal is the Honey Bee. Honey Bees in there larval state are dead two types of jelly, which will determine how the bee grows. If a bee continues to be fed Royal Jelly, the bee will grow to be a queen. This principle applies to the hive, but upon taking the King Morph, they become male. This may also apply to Knights, but Xivu breaks that rule.
