I stopped running my Well build on normal 50 wave runs. I would drop a Well and my teammates would run ahead of it instead of standing in it. Over and over it would happen. I’m running my Arc build now lol. But I really appreciate any Hunter running tether. I wind up matched with one and I put Well back on.

  • I’m running away from you because I don’t want the arc soul lol.

  • The reason they run away from it is probably because they're running radiant based builds, something that Well overrides. If I were to become radiant and use my knife for a kill, I get a refund. If a Warlock then plants a well and I make a kill I lose it because the Warlock removed my radiance. Get it? So many builds are ruined by Well due to it not stacking. A nerf that was made to combat it being all but required for DPS in raids.

Most run ahead of Well or Tether because they want to get the most kills in the activity. You step in the Well for survivability and to clear a wave quickly. You don’t lose buffs by letting the Tether do its job. It’s mostly about cutting off kills and they usually wind up dying because they’re trapped by a spawning wave. I honestly don’t care so I don’t run Well unless I know the guys playing are sensible enough to step in it.

  • That tether bit is true.

Everything I said in my post is true. Lol it’s ok seeing I’d prefer to run other things and have some fun. I’m happy seeing I’ve gotten every roll on midnight coup but one. My payload/Frenzy with range masterwork dropped during my 50 waves at lunch. Missed using it and now I have every PVE roll conceivable. Hammerhead tomorrow and then Blast Furnace the following week.

  • Haven't touched D2 in a week. Been busy with work. What I meant is that people leaving well for kills is not necessarily true. Again, Well overrides buffs like radiant, so any Hunter running a throwing knife build with Knock 'Em Down will typically want to stay away from a Well.

  • Throwing knives versus sitting in a Well in a horde mode… The sensible Hunters enter the Well just like the sensible Warlocks let a tether do its job. Either way my point is the same as the OP. Players are worried about having the most kills after 50 waves.

Keep in mind, throwing knives don't recharge with Well, only radiant. Also keep in mind that most throwing knife builds in PVE revolve around Assassin's Cowl. Bonus points for using the fragment that extends radiance and restoration on kill alongside the healing grenade. I use that build quite often. Never needed a Well. On the otherhand, if I can't throw a knife like Well killing my build, I can't survive. Well is the easiest way to survive, but is it the best offensively? Not in my opinion. I could never sit still that long either way. I don't see how you can. I guess to each their own. That most kills thing is definitely true, though. Good day.
