Comp is 10x worse now

If someone at Bungie sees this, I hope you’ll consider my time in Crucible/comp with what’s being requested… All Comp needed was Countdown to be removed. That was it. No ammo changes (remove special crates). No Clash. No countdown. No Collision. Just Team Survival. Also, one last request... Bring back the Freelance Playlist. 2-stacks just alienate the solo player regardless of how they play/perform, and 3 randoms should never play a team of 3, which happens. Freelance was created for a reason. Please stop trying to solve for it, because none of these matchmaking “solutions” are even remotely comparable. Respectfully.

  • As a pretty regular comp player, I agree with a lot of this. Mainly that comp is a LOT worse than it has been in recent memory. I don't think I would mind it being clash and collision if it just went back to transmat instead of crates. I'm glad to see countdown go, even though I was just starting to get used to it (still felt too easy to tank it to an impossible comeback though). But collision feels worse than countdown ever did, and I thought I'd like clash as a near-equivalent to survival, but no, clash feels way too long, and the crates make it, and anything else, feel very bad to play. With the trials labs this and last weekend using crates too, I feel pretty disheartened about crucible in general I don't know that bringing freelance back in would help. The matchmaking as it is now seemed to work relatively well with a healthier player population, but sadly there aren't enough people playing to make separate playlists viable. Sort of a double edged sword, since part of the reason the population is low seems like it would be because a lot of people dislike the crate system. But they probably brought in the crate system largely because there was also a strong reaction to the transmat system by many. I was also against the transmat system at first because it wasn't very well tuned with the ability changes, and a couple of other bumps in the road, but once it smoothed out, I adjusted and like it just as much as it was pre-transmat (though I would like a 6s mode to have the old special ammo system where it just dropped everywhere) It's unfortunate that Bungie seems so invested in the crate system, designing the new maps around them, and they're not likely to go away any time soon. Felt a little bit blindsided by transmat when it became crucible-wide, but then felt blind-sided again with the crate system in comp so soon after that
