There are 3 blights (small spheres in the first area) Very small ones that can only be shot by Whisper.
This week it's further into the mission. 3 more.
So it's not the quest that's dead. But rather your sense of exploration and investigation.

No, apparently it was confusion. You have different Taken balls in the same activity being called the same thing (Taken Blights) when they're not the same. I'd say it wasn't described well and I definitely didn't see the actual first set or try looking in that area because I thought it was talking about the big Taken Blights in the first major combat area. Different issue here.
-
So you didn't bother looking based on an assumption. There's more then 1 form of blight.

Edited by Lord Magris: 4/19/2024 12:00:06 AMThere is one exceptionally common type of blight and then much, much less common types of blights. The big obvious ones are there. It's within good reason to assume those could've been the ones it was talking about. Especially since you don't actually have to destroy them at all to progress in the mission but they have Destroy markers on them. Apparently I'm also not the only one who assumed it was the case.

Hey Bungie. Be more pedantic. Tiny Blights - First room. Black with glowy white circles. Take them out with Whisper.
-
You need to consider perspectives a bit more. You might've looked up an online guide the very first chance you had and thought it was obvious. Maybe you should've tried doing the quest without looking it up and scratch your head in confusion before you inevitably would've had to use a guide or ask on the forums. Perhaps then it would've been simple for you to understand where I'm coming from. Also, nowhere in that quest step does it say to bring Whisper of the Worm with you to shoot them, so once again some people are going to assume there's nothing special to it and just destroy the blights in the first major combat room when the signs pointing to the actual blights you need to destroy are out of the way. Those in the first combat room can also be seen as a set of blights because there is a number of them in there and then two rooms later, there is another set of blights in there too.

Did do the quest without looking it up. That's why I said your sense of exploration and investigation was dead. There's plenty of prior quests in the game which gave me a measure of stuff to work with via a process of elimination. Ruinous effigy would be one to count here. Savathuns "Eyes" around the system wouldn't pop without using it. Same with these blights but you need Whisper to pop em.

Wording wise, it was done stupidly. It should've been something more like 'in the spawn area destroy the 3 small taken orbs'. For week 2 - 'in the grass room jump puzzle destroy the 3 small taken orbs' Telling people where exactly to do things shouldn't be a problem because nothing about this was secret. The oracles are the 'secret' aspect
-
Edited by Althanash: 4/20/2024 12:55:16 PMAn sight wise they were incredibly obvious. Unless you have sight troubles in which case it might be a bit harder to see.
-
Oh you mean like the far right spawn one thats not obvious at all despite brightness, or the quest saying Blights rather than Orbs? Blights are generally considered to be the large taken spheres with the barrier surrounding whereas orbs are the smaller ones that are used for breaking barriers (Kings Fall entrance) or the floating ones like in Whisper. Bungie could've easily clarified it but decided not to.
-
The first two stand out like a sore thumb, the third one you gotta move a bit for. The big grass room two above far side of the room and another above where you enter. Blights - Spheres with a dome or with a white ring. Those 3 blights fit that description.
-
You managed to completely ignore the one orb I was talking about. Right side isn't obvious at all and its sitting in-front of a lighting point that drowns it out. I didn't say the 2 left side spawn orbs or the green puzzle ones weren't obvious, I said the right side spawn orb wasn't after you said 'An sight wise they were incredibly obvious.'. On you go keep rooting for misleading or slacking descriptions and the wrong orbs though.
-
An yet I had very little trouble finding them. Go figure.
-
Congrats, you're not a new player and you know the difference, but guaranteed theres stuff in-game you don't know though but others do. Does that mean Bungie shouldn't clarify things? no.
-
Tbf I know what I need to. But I don't expect clarity from Bungie unless it feels very much like something is bugged out.

You're the one with the quest problem, so you should work it out
1) Example ?
Id need to know what you already know, but considering your game history theres a good chance you dont know about the timer in Whisper not force kicking if you have the ogre spawned. If you did you wouldn't have constant more DNFs than clears
2) So we're comparing a system error vs exploring?
stop sniffling glue.
-
1) Completed Legend solo twice and aware of the Ogre spawn with the timer. The DNFs are from helping two buds find the oracles. 2) I see you've resorted to something unproductive.
1) Completed Legend solo twice and aware of the Ogre spawn with the timer.
2) I see you've resorted to something unproductive.
You didn't elaborate on your point . I could've just went 'user error' and neither of us would've added something. Nice try though
-
1) 25 min? Ya got me there. Only thing I can recall is spending extensive time checking for possible oracles spawns. Since I'd read reports of oracles being "bugged". Decided to check if they were around or not. Checked a lot of old spots and possible new ones. Think I made a post somewhere asking about it then read further into it and then realization hit. - It's like it used to be. New oracles each week. 2) Pretty self explanatory. But we'd probably hit an impasse.

Im basically done with caring rn about this - its getting beyond any possible effort lmao Hope you have a good day.

You too. o/
