Hi, I’m new to forums, but I’ve been playing Destiny since D1s release. I’m not a negative person, and don’t understand complaining about a game for no reason. I recently took a break for the first time ever a few months ago, and just came back last weekend to help my friend try to get the new scout in trials. Everyone knows the patch, but I went in blind, and I was so confused.
I’m a long time bow main who’s been running a hip-fire / opening shot Under Your Skin with either Lion Rampant or Oathkeepers. Bow ONLY. My favorite gameplay style has been an aggressive high APM, high AE, aerial bow play style. But now, instead of double body shot, it takes two headshots to kill while also being harder to land shots. People who shot swapped just killed the most unique playstyle in crucible, and I’m so unbelievably sad that I can’t even open the game anymore. I don’t even know what else to say. Am I alone here?
I’ve had to make so many spreadsheets to perfectly understand bows because nobody else does the work to break down bows. I’ve spent dozens of hours farming the perfect bows where the perks impact TTK more than any other weapon’s perks. I don’t understand why this needed to happen, but I want to hear from anyone else. Am I alone? I hope not, because I haven’t been able to launch the game without feeling like everything I’ve worked for is just a cheap gimmick to be nerfed because of one shot swapping playstyle. Please let me know what you think.

Yeah they were hit pretty hard. Personally I like the changes since I feel they were a little too easy to use before. My only gripe with them now is that they still are not able to duel against other weapons due to their slower ttk. This forces them to have to take advantage of cover in order to survive engagements. If Bungie were to implement a faster base draw-time and reload speed, I feel it would help push them away from that passive play-style into a more aggressive one.

How is it okay to use nothing but a bow? But if you start having dreams of 100k on ntte people get all in a fuss? Bows are just really hard to fit into the sandbox simply because of how some people choose to use them. Putting them back definitely won't speed the game up and it probably doesn't need to get any slower. The only thing they could really do is a faster rate of fire because there's only so much room to work with when it comes to damage before they start becoming too much like special weapons. They could go back to being specials with some kind of ammo adjustments. But it would need to be something where they would run out because just being able to lock down an area of the map like they do isn't really fair if you can just do that the whole match. It can also be pretty boring for a lot of people.

Bows are still effective. Fusion rifles, before the various reworks, needed very specific perks to work in PvP. Some bows just won't work at all, like Trinity Ghoul. I'm glad that it's stopped bow swapping though.

It's called a "meta" Hang around for 5 minutes and you'll see that it'll change.
