Are we forgetting about all the exotics?? Thorn, Ace of Spades, Gjallarhorn, Whisper of the Worm? If the lore on a gun isn’t about the gun, it’s probably part of a group of other guns with lore that tell a larger story. Just because the lore isn’t directly spelled out for you doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

 • You’re thinking personalized history. That’s what exotic weapon lore is. He is talking about a gun models history. Was it salavaged from Golden Age or designed by City designers? Was it a relic from pre-golden age or one of the few golden age weapons before the general ban? Civilian or Guardians use it most? It is the baseline for particular legendary or exotics? That’s what OP is talking about.

 • im not talking about the dozen of guns that have lore im talking about the hundreds that dont cause for every gun like Thorn with an epic behind it theres about a dozen like Lorentz driver that have nothing but a vague description and a loosely connected lore tab to go off of

 • Why does every gun need in depth lore?

 • nothing in depth, just a quick blurb somewhere so you know what it is and where it came from

 • We know where a majority of the guns are from. That’s why we have weapon foundries.

 • the foundries don't cover everything is the problem you have vanilla d2 introduced those blocky guns like origin story, nightshade, nameless midnight, etc and for years they had no foundry behind them, until season of the witch made them Nadir guns you also have vanilla d1 guns which are very inconsistent. you'll have guns using a foundry's naming scheme or being explicitly stated to belong a certain foundry while identical weapon use the naming scheme of another some guns don't have foundry's

 • It might surprise you but the amount of things you have to do to write a story for every language and get it approved in every language takes a lot of time especially if it gets rejected and since the devs are given a few months for the seasons and like a year for the dlcs they likely don't have the time to give every weapon they make in-depth lore.
