Someone clarify leaver protection
Title.
I mean, my teammate leaves at the end of round 1. Why do I still lose progress if there's supposed to be leaver protection?

Also.! If you get the message pop up “protected” do you stay till the end or leave? Cos I stayed lost and lost points….

I say allow teams to vote for mercy rule. The winning team still gains progress themselves, but you don't lose any. If you are the only player, it's just you. Open your director or whatever and vote for mercy rule. The game ends early and you get to rematchmake if desired. After the game put on an intermission that asks the reason for mercy rule such as having too many allies leaving, or just being stomped by the enemy. This way Bungie can filter the number of games ending this way and create a system for it.

I believe it procs if someone leaves at the beginning of round 1, or earlier.
