Adding the Red War campaign in to the game as the continuation of the New Light story
As many of you know, the New Light experience is generally regarded as bad, confusing and too short to really learn about Destiny 2, of its characters and gameplay. So I would propose adding the Red War campaign on top of the New Light for added context and gameplay. It would also give a free to play (which it was previously during Shadowkeep expansion year) campaign to see how they play and what you can generally expect from them.
Storywise, the start of the Red War is perfect, you go to the Last City for the first time only to see its being attacked. You get to meet with Zavala, Cayde and Ikora quite naturally and through the campaign you'll see their personalities a bit more than the "only vendor" type of thing. You would be hopping a few planets (showing different destinations), you could unlock the other subclasses through the story as you play through it and a bit more time doing some solo gameplay would help totally new players get their bearings on the game and understand the mechanics a bit better (getting to do nothing in a strike when you have all new gear and your teammates are veterans at guardian rank 10-11 isn't exactly a positive experience for most).
Sure some things would need to be changed, some story elements, a subclass vendor to the Farm and some gameplay tweaks to the campaign but most of the work is already there just waiting to be utilized. Even the different vaulted destinations could be only accessed with the campaign if deemed better to stay in content vault otherwise. As a bonus they could add the first mission from Forsaken to show Cayde's final stand so New Lights aren't super confused as to where Cayde is after the campaign.

TLDR corpo speak: New player experience better, new player happier, new player spend more money, Big profit, Big profit=more money.
